The only movie I have ever seen that was genuinely life-changing for me was "Fight Club". I was 16 or 17 and it was preaching ideals I'd basically never thought about in-depth and it truly resonated with me. The whole "this is your life, and it's ending one minute at a time" diatribe is filled with things I found incredibly profound back then.

It made me get into shape and start enjoying life without worrying so much about material goods.

I really wish the US was getting that cover.

This is why I'd say Fight Club is my favorite movie of all time. I love it as a film, it's highly enjoyable, entertaining, filled with great performances, great visuals, incredible direction... but I can also say it genuinely changed my life, and it's the only movie that ever has. Other movies have affected my outlook on things, made me feel things I'd never felt before, but Fight Club changed my whole personality. I hadn't read any of Palahniuk's work before I watched the movie so that definitely contributed to how much it affected me.

Also can this movie hurry up and come out already??

I really want to see this again. This might be the first BD I've bought in quite some time that I'll watch twice back-to-back.

It may sound strange, but I kind of don't want to watch the special features for this one because I don't want it to lose any of that mystique. Seeing some 50-year-old lady talking about how she picked out the music and why might ruin some of the magic for me.

The font and the music really reminded me of Grand Theft Auto Vice City, a game that holds a special place in my heart.

Yeah, there are plenty of pirated copies on the internet and there's the iTunes version, but I'm not gonna watch it again until I can see it in 1080p.

I was reading a review on iTunes, and some idiot said they hated the movie because there wasn't enough driving and the intro credits were in a "pink font and looked like 16 Candles." Some people shouldn't be allowed to watch movies.

Funny, because I believe Refn or Gosling actually listed 16 Candles as an influence for the look of the film at one point.

The opening 10 minutes are the most totally captivated I've been by a movie in the theater in years. The initial job, my god is it ever tense... I felt like the cops were after me. For a movie to really pull you into it like that is something special.

Then the credits roll with this awesome 80's-inspired synth-rock tune and the pink font straight from "Vice City" (or 16 Candles, absolutely) and you know you're watching something special. A "normal" movie would have gone with some hard rock, some rap, maybe some electronic harsh sounding tough guy music to go with the "badass" tone... this movie challenges your notions of masculinity immediately with the song and the font, and I loved that.

Can't wait to pop the Blu in. The driving at the start and the police chatter are bone-chilling.

YES!!! THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN OUR COVER!
That (maybe minus the 5-star blurbs), and a nice slipcase would have been PERFECT!

Shame... Can't wait for it to be released though!

Thanks for this, Keldons! It's kind of ironic that the studio chose the original logo/font for the Blu-ray's picture, yet used some 70s advertisement font for the cover.

Oh well.

Even the 5-star blurbs make it look like a movie poster for some foreign indie darling, gives it this world movie feel that the US version totally lacks.

Seriously, I've never been this enamored with a film so long after its release. A genuine life-changing classic. Certainly enough to take me from "I'd be interested in pursuing a filmmaking career" before, to, "**** things potentially not working out, this is what I have to try and do with my life."

Maybe it's just me though. This movie is for sure the best of the last decade for me.
AMEN to this! I'll gladly re-purchase the film if it's released in a deluxe version (pun intended). There's something about this film that is so striking.

Agreed. The U.S. version seems like a desperate attempt to appeal to redneck men sitting around with a can of beer while watching TV after work.

But not to worry, not even the unappealing cover art will keep me from buying this on the first day of release. Cannot wait to see Drive again!

+1. Day one buy for certain, more like Hour One. I'll be at the store right when it opens.

I'm picking up the Future Shop exclusive, the one with just the scorpion and the jacket texture, listed a couple pages back, because I think it looks better than the other North American covers. If I had a choice though I'd take that Finnish version with a slipcover.

Excited to see/get this. But it would be a blind buy and I will wait for a price drop. Too bad the Best Buy trade and save expires just one week before this release.
