85.69% sure. Haha.

I checked the listing at my job, MovieStop, and we added it to our "Trade 2" list as a free new release title, and the date is Jan. 31st. Granted, it still is subject to change until officially announced, for whatever reason I got a "February" vibe from this movie, and one day before feels right. LOL

This is the best movie I've seen in 2011, and it's not even close really (Rise of the Planet of the Apes was a great summer movie, but Drive is a piece of art).

Absolutely a Day 1 purchase, and I'd imagine the BD presentation will be excellent.

I hope it is packed with some great special features.

Commentary with Cranston and Gosling would make me happy.

Man, stunning neo-noir with some of the most calculated and visceral imagery in a film I've seen all year. Magnificent. I did a Podcast review of it for anyone that is interested: http://www.lastpictureshowpodcast.co...lm-school.html

Default SE coming eventually, first BR will be bare-bones

"director Nicolas Winding Refn suggests that fans might want to skip the first release of the film on DVD and Blu-ray and wait for a deluxe edition that he’d like to out together in a year or so. Speaking to The Playlist recently, Refn indicated that an upcoming double-dip will offer greater insights and information about the film than the bare-bones iteration that’s due in a few months."

All he says is that he "hopes" to do a special edition.. not that one will actually happen.

Well, I'll do a rental first anyway since I've never seen it yet.

It'd be really cool if Criterion were to release this hopeful definitive version. Would be even cooler, if they included the work print version of the film with Trent Reznor's Social Network score dubbed in. But that's just overly wishful thinking.

Yeah I read that and was about to post it here too, but who am I kidding? I won't be able to exert even a modicum of self-control when it comes to this film. I'll have the barebones blu day one, and will upgrade accordingly if/when this proposed, uh, "Queen" edition transpires.

Don't care much for extras, so as long as the movie is the same and he isn't planning to do a director's cut or something, I'll be happy with a bare-bones edition (would be nice if it was reflected in the price, but somehow I doubt it.)

exactly! plus he says he would like to do a retrospective edition, so this could take ages until its (if ever) released.
can't wait to get my hands on the bluray, so this is a definite first day purchase.
there is absolutely no way this interview info is making me wait even longer!

UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

But I loved this movie so much, so I will do a double dip. Besides WALL-E, this will be my only other double dip to date.

Haven't seen it yet so the bare bones release will be mine. I rarely if ever watch special features.
