Perfect analogy. In fact, I think I feel like a The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly and Drive double feature. Maybe even the whole trilogy.

Well put. I definitely agree. As said, I am really glad we didn't get a biography of the Driver, (or even his name. )

Hundreds would tell you it is a great one, while probably only a handful would tell you to cancel your order now. It's a unique film, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Talking yet another blind buy I am much looking forward to seeing.....

I picked this up yesterday using the $10 for $5 Gift card deal Amazon had going, got it from a Marketplace seller on Amazon for $10.67 shipped all said and done.
I am really looking forward to watching this after all of the glowing reviews I have read on it, I really liked the one at High-Def Digest, they are calling this one a MUST OWN.
This is getting watched the very day I get it in the mail.

(BTW on my personal "Blind-Buy scale" I would have to say that there is around a 95% chance that I will like this one. )

[Show spoiler]He got stabbed right in the guts. I'm sure he'll be heading to the hospital.

I enjoyed it. I'm still not convinced of it greatness though. I get what the story is aiming at, I just don't see how people act like this in real life.
[Show spoiler]Like when the Cranston character just stood there and let his wrists get cut. He was the only one in the movie that knew how cruel this guy was an he didn't see that coming? How about lunging for a wrench or something?

Clever observation, although I meant where's he's headed next in life. As in his future. Not his literal next destination.

It is just like the Transporter but a more serious take. More serious acting and less over the top action. It was good.

He was a stunt man for the movies. I'm sure he picked up on some stuff along the way.

Just watched Drive for the first time yesterday. I thought it was pretty good, so I'm happy with the blind buy.

1) It's not real life, it's a movie.

2) I thought Cranston's character only knew how brutal Perlman's character was. I mean come on... who would fear Albert Brooks? I mean besides hotdogs.

3) That was a weird scene. In real life, you're right, you don't walk up to the guy you know is going to kill you and shake his hand. You high tail it out of there, broken pelvis and all.

4) Did he leave the $$$ so he would no longer be involved? Faulty logic IMO - if Joe on the street picks it up, it's still gone because of Driver. He should've taken it and moved to Belize like Cranston suggested.

5) That big booty chick from Mad Men sure took a helluva shot. That and the Cranston arm slice really caught me off guard.

There is a lot of hype over this film and I have yet to see it. But is it really worth a watch? It does look good, well by the trailer anyway.

It's good but me personally I don't think it's as good as what a lot of people in this thread hyped it up to be. I didn't read to much of this thread, what little I did read made it seem like this was the best movie of the year, which it definitely isn't.

I thought the exact same thing. I was expecting something out of the ordinary but I think the movie was pretty standard fare. It was definitely a solid movie with great acting but I was expecting more.

I think it's one of the better movies of last year, but by no means the masterpiece for-all-time that many people make it out to be.
