lol, I just e-mailed the sell outs. Kept it simple and professional, but wow was it hard. It really is disgusting to shrug off the blu-ray supporters that had expectations of Paramount putting their movies on blu-ray. They need to keep the fundamentals of business in mind--serve the need of the customers first or you'll make no money in the future.

What makes composing these emails nice and easy is that this decision makes zero commercial sense.
The incentive they took is a mere fraction of what they stand to gain by embracing Blu-ray.

Default How do we get every PS3 owner to buy 1 Blu-ray?

I was just thinking....with the millions of PS3's out there....wouldn't it be cool if we could get all of them to purchase one Blu-Ray movie in the next week or two..........

well when you think about it ....

The 1st set of PS3's came w/ a movie.

The one now you get 5 free Blu-rays...

These count to totals ....

All PS3 games are on Blu-ray discs

All this help the blu-ray format

Promote heavily on the PS Network.

Offer a video download informing PS3 owners about the benefits of Blu-ray.

Offer vouchers in PS3 games.

I think there should be a blu-ray movie in the box and like the xbox 360, they should put a little video installed in the system explaining the PS3 and what it's capable of and what software is compatible to it to. Stay Blu Homies.

PS3 owners need to realize that by buying a ps3, they have picked a side already. They are hurting their cause and playing into microsoft's hands by "waiting for the dust to settle."

Well I work on a video game store, so always when I see new costumers I talk to them about the PS 3 and the Blu Ray movies and how great they are, here at México everything is Blu there is only 300 on hd dvd. So maybe you could go to Best Buy or Circuit City and get close to the people watching the HD section and talk to them about Blu Ray, belive me this works.

Just one?!?!? If I must limit myself to just one movie for the sake of Blu Ray, I will. I don't see how only buying one will help though, two is probably better.

Default HD-DVD's "real" insider!

Boy, had to chuckle about this pro hd-fud coming out - according to a poster -- who just bashed Bill Hunt's commentary, "Be aware of the sources (digitbal bits, horrible journalist since 2006, and beatboy a avs poster who is wrong over 95%) -- at eproductwars.com:

" Poolrad responds on 2007-08-21 18:45:53.0: Real Insider Here's a real insider that has real connections. Wait for the CEDIA Announcements.. "

Posts: 3,250 HD DVD player sales spike

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We have enjoyed a very large spike in HD DVD players sales since yesterday's Paramount and DreamWorks exclusive announcements. So much so that we are going to offer forum members Gen 3 players this Friday for pre-order.

The format battle is heating up and we will see more major announcements at CEDIA. So stay tuned...

-Robert

The REAL insider is none other than this muppet???!!

By the way, Beatboy77... I love ya! And your comments were backed up by Bill Hunt who had reported a similar reaction from Paramount.

Unhappy Is $150M really important?

I was confused with that. I can not believe that the reason for paramount to move to HD DVD is only the $150M. If that, the format war already was finished, because sony could offer money to universal and warner to make them surpport BD only.
So I wonder what the true reason is for paramount to make such decision. It is really hard to understand.

Sony should do some very heavy promotions to everyone who has a registered PS3, let those folks out there that have PS3s that their system is good for more than just games. Though it really is beyond me how someone could purchase one and not realize that.

Pretty much only people who already own one of the hd formats would be aware of this yet. Nobody rushed out to impulsively buy a hd-dvd player just because of paramount. That's retarded.

Whenever someone is thinking of buying a PS3 or does i mention the promotion and tell them to buy POTC because it simply is the reason for Blu-Ray (half b.s but it seems to work).
