I will never support 2 formats. If I felt that Blu-ray was the weaker format that had no room to grow or advance in the future, I would be deep in the HD DVD side, but that isn't the case. So yes, Blu till the end, but the BDA better start flexing their muscle. Thank you Fox for finally rejoining the party.

Just get it on DVD untill you can import a BD version or Paramount caves. It's not worth buying a $400 player for Transformers.

Paramount made a business decision. I don't understand the incentives involved, but I am not boycotting Paramount and I am not boycotting Blu-ray. The whole format war makes me sick, I don't believe for a second the market can sustain two formats but two formats is what we have and expensive dual format players won't solve the issue. I will continue to watch the movies I want to watch and hope for the best, but I don't see any hope. This is worst case if you wanted a good selection of software and all companies competing to build the best players and provide the best software. The 97% of households that don't care about either format now will likely continue to do the same for the most part.

Yes, BLU is the best format out. The FOX news was awesome. There are like 8 titles I will be pre-ordering as soon as they hit Amazon.

Just when I want to start paying down my credit cards. Lol. Screw it - you only live once baby!!!!

I want there to be one format, so I can watch all my favorite movies in the BEST quality possible. The format that can produce that is Blu-ray hands down. I'll never give my money to an inferior format. I support Blu-ray all the way.

This news didn't sway my decision at all. I am in this for the long haul to support Blu. As I stated in a different post, what movies has Paramount released on Blu...outside of "Shooter"?

Right. For all the talk about Shooter - I bought it because everyone raved, I wasn't really impressed. The PQ and SQ were GREAT, but again I think it was a movie to show off Blu more than a good movie in its own right.

Any of that make sense? Lol.

Same here, but I did feel like I was sucker-punched in the dark when I first laid my eyes onto the headline.

I love Blu, I buy Blu and I am looking to buy even MORE BLU!~ I will not buy DVD unless its an educational (National Geographic Mega Structures) kinda thing. All others will be BLU!

So for all you people that are stopping, ditching or going neutral - your loosing out. Not us. You also are not helping either.

So, calm down - enjoy the great news and leave Paramount to wallow in their greed. Trust me - this has tarnished their company for the foreseeable future and it will NOT be forgotten.

GO BLU!

Word.

Settle down, folks.

I've been expecting something big from the HD DVD camp for a while, and this seems to be what they've been brewing for quite some time. On the same front, the Blu-ray camp has been quiet for a while (Fox press release notwithstanding)... who's to say what they've got in mind?

I am confident that both sides still have moves to make in this chess match. If you haven't got the guts to watch how it plays out, stop worrying about the war and just buy whatever you see on the shelves that fancies your interest. You'll sleep better at night, I promise!

Saying "I'm buying a Mac" doesn't really hurt MS. You do realize that MS has a lot of money invested in Apple and now with dualboot are dipping into their OS market, let alone the MS software titles on the Apple platform.

If you really want to cut MS out, go Linux and all opensource for Office type applications. That hurts MS the most.
