Paramount is no different than a prostitute willing to give anyone a BJ for a nice piece of coin.

Seriously, that's all this is about.

Long term thinking and strategy not considered.

But, make no mistake. If Blu-ray continues to lead and gain over HD DVD, Paramount eventually will be back again.

Angry Boycott Microsoft

Seriously, they are the true evil master pulling all the puppets. We may boycott Universal or Paramount all we like, but they are just pawns, controlled by the true master of monopoly, Microsoft.

Microsoft as software company has no business at all in Hollywood, and yet because of them, we have this format war and they love to prolong the war for their amusement. 150 millions is pocket change to them, and yet it will cause mass confusion.

So I say boycott Microsofot, use their competitor products, Apple's Mac, Google's search, Mozilla/Firefox's browser. Teach your kids or students not to ever use Microsoft products. Dell is offering Linux-ready desktops/laptops. Google is offering free internet office programs, no need to buy Microsoft Office anymore.

So that's my rant of the day

i understood it very well. paramount prefers BD and knows its capabilities very well. yet, they needed the money. I don't understand it. Paramount was the only studio this year to make a 1.5billion dollars from their summer releases alone. why would they want more money? GREED is the answer. in the short run it looks beneficial having that much money. in the long run, they screwed themselves over.

'nough said.

or you could just use your ps3 kind of a cool machine considering it can basically do all that stuff besides office.

I ALWAYS use Google.
Linux is also on my PS3. I use that more then XP. (XP Also has a virus that im too lazy to go run avast to get rid of...)
as for Micrsoft Office. I've got 2007. not like i paid for it though. Torrents own...

i HATE microsoft... with a passion. i hated the X-Box. i Hate the 360. Hate XP. and i've got vista upstairs... Dispise it.

Beleive it or not- i DO own a 360. and an X-Box.... and XP + Vista.

I used to enjoy the 360 till i got the PS3. its pretty ****ed anyway. you have to restart it like... 30-40 times before the thing actually stats up...

XP has a virus on it.

Vista is slow as hell.

the X-Box is old, and has no games.

Actually I've been hating MS for a long time, since the day they screwed Novell Networking, Netscape or even Corell. So we're talking about late 80's, early 90's

Lately my hate for them just keep on growing, first they have no business in game consoles, and now they showed their ugly heads in Hollywood. I mean c'mon, they have 30 billions cash in the bank, while other companies are struggling just to turn profit. They have billions of revenue from the OS and office suite monopoly, what more could they want? If that's not greedy, I don't know what is

It doesn't take much googling to find out how much I detest M$!

That said, getting rid of the OS for most people is gonna be hard. But for replacing Office, there's a real simple solution: OpenOffice. It's free, open source, cross platform, reads and write M$ doc formats, and implements ODF, the open document format. So those of you who have ripped off Office 2007 should just replace it with OpenOffice!

I sold my Xbox 360 and my games today for $300. I figured I could use that money to buy more blu-ray movies. Besides, all I was waiting for with the 360 was Halo, and I figure that would come out on PC, then I could just play it on my dual core I-Mac. No PC's in this house.

I have been a Mac user for life and they are great, welcome to the cult errr.. I mean family. I also recommend using Pages, it comes with Apple's iWork software, it is pretty good, takes a little while to get used to after using The Lazy M's software but is worth trying out.

We just got one of the new 24" iMacs.

Setup was...

Would you like to copy your personal settings over from another Mac.
Would you like to connect to one of these networks found.
Would you like to update your iTunes library from another Mac.

5 minutes later and it was up and running. No fuss and muss.

Try setting up a new Windows box and getting all your settings and content over so it's just like your old system. People that say the Mac isn't as easy as it's cracked up to me are smoking the funny stuff. It's a nightmare on Windows. Better things to do with my time.
