Then that means you are only a supporter if you live close to the location of the team AND can afford to go to a lot of matches. For me, no. Many real supporters, even locals, will fall outside of this because of factors that have nothing to do with their feelings or loyalty to the team. So I will continue to feel that is a way too easy statement to make.

A supporter means exactly that, ‘supporting’ your team. If you aren’t attending games, you are not supporting your team, simple. If you live in another country, then you are a fan. You may be a msssive fan but still a fan. If you live in the same city as the club you like but don’t attend games then you aren’t a supporter either. You are a fan. |

Nothing wrong with it but I don’t agree with your definition. Because it is just that, your definition and opinion of it, not some fact. You obviously feel being a supporter only means you have to physically support them at the stadium. For me that is a simplification of something much deeper than that. Of course attendance is important, don’t get me wrong, and if you’re able to attend most games then that’s fantastic. But there’s many reasons why someone can’t attend most games and that doesn’t make them less of a supporter for me. I don’t share your opinion that you can only support a team physically at the stadium and with your wallet. For me supporting a team is more about feelings and loyalty, staying through ups and downs year after year and being dedicated to the club. It’s not about geography or money for me. Also, I’m not into categorizing or degrading supporters based on factors that have nothing to do with the loyalty or dedication to the club.
I will have no problem calling myself (and of course all others who fall into this situation for different reason) a supporter, but you’re welcome to disagree of course. |

I heard on the news that The beast from the east & Storm Emma is causing havoc to this weekend's football schedule in the UK.
Are any of your club's affected by postponements have revised dates for matches yet? In the Republic of Ireland; All League of Ireland games that were meant to be played this weekend are all postponed until a later date. It is the same story too with all GAA matches & Pro 14 Rugby matches in the country which are also all postponed because of the bad weather. |

It’s bloody freezing in the North East. I don’t even mind cold weather but this is something else. |

Yep. It is exceptionally cold out here in Dublin. The east of Ireland including Dublin has a red weather warning extended until 9am tomorrow.
I heard some good news about Séamus Coleman today. He is due to line up to for Everton again against Burnley tomorrow. https://www.rte.ie/sport/soccer/2018...ainst-burnley/ Jesus. What a time to do just that. In the freezing snow. |

Yeah but this lot REALLY wind me up, it's just constant cynicism from start to finish. Wilshere throwing himself over matey's leg and then doing the "slapping the pitch in agony" routine only to return to perfect health 30 seconds later is what got to me the most. Yes, I know that that sort of thing is all too common these days but it's the way he did it, rarely do I see people beating the pitch like that unless they really HAVE done themselves a mischief. Tosser.

The only time they act as much is when they've been pulled over by the Old Bill at 3am in the morning doing 150mph on the hard shoulder ... One of our local players lost his leg after a vicious meant to maim tackle, now that guy had something to cry about. |

So much quality on City. So much attacking spirit with Liverpool. Being of fan of Arsenal has just become too painful for me now that Arsene has stayed on. |

By the way, Chelsea were a utter disgrace today. All that money spent and they park the bus for 90 minutes. They are a embarrassment to English football. |
