That's what I think too. However, unusual to stop taking bets, this could happen.

From what I hear he is vastly improved over last two years. Big, powerful and fast striker who seems to have found his shooting boots. Still only 23 as well.

Still some big signings to come as well. Exciting times ahead.

Manchester United have made a bid of £25m to bring Cesc Fabregas back to England, according to Sky sources.

The Barcelona midfielder has repeatedly said he wants to stay at his hometown club despite difficulty winning over some supporters last season.

That was his second year back in Catalonia following his return from Arsenal, who reportedly have first refusal on Fabregas if Barca decide to sell.

United's offer is believed to be below Barcelona's valuation of the Spain international.

United are searching for a creative midfield presence to offset the loss of newly-retired Paul Scholes.

Fabregas would become the second former Arsenal captain at Old Trafford, alongside Robin van Persie, if the Premier League champions managed to pull off a deal.

I really can't see this happening.

If he was going to come back to the Premier League, it would be back to Arsenal.

He wants to stay at Barcelona for another season but I hope he comes back to us again in the future.

I agree with Wes on this one,I'd love to see him at Utd but Arsenal do have first refusal so I don't see how Wenger wouldn't take him back if he was to leave but as tob mentioned he would prefer to stay at Barca but who knows, they have a new manager on the way.

Manchester United have tabled an improved £30m plus add-ons bid for Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas, according to Sky sources.

United boss David Moyes has admitted signing a new midfielder is his priority ahead of the new season, although the Spanish club have warned the Premier League champions off the former Arsenal man, who rejoined Barca in 2011 following eight years in north London.

Barcelona vice president Josep Maria Bartomeu was quoted by Spanish daily Sport on Friday: "Barcelona can assure you we will not entertain any offers for Cesc. It is totally ruled out, he's not for sale."

However, having failed with a bid of around £25m last week, United have returned with an improved offer in a bid to land Moyes his first big signing since joining the club.

Chief executive Ed Woodward left United's pre-season tour ahead of schedule on Wednesday in order to return to Europe to carry out urgent transfer business, with it understood to concern a player arriving at Old Trafford.

And goalkeeper David de Gea has said he would welcome Fabregas at Old Trafford, telling the Daily Mail: "He is a great player, very skilful, knows how to win things and you always want those type of players in your team."

Robin van Persie has also expressed his desire to be reunited with Fabregas, having played alongside the midfielder for Arsenal.

Asked after United's 5-1 pre-season victory over the A-League Al Stars whether he would welcome Fabregas, Van Persie said in Sydney: "Of course, he's a great player."

Moyes was also questioned on possible new recruits after the clash in Australia, but insisted there had been no developments over the past 24 hours.

"I've not had any more news since we last spoke yesterday," said Moyes. "I have no more updates so I couldn't give you anything positive or negative."

Gareth Bale odds-on with Sky Bet to leave Tottenham.

Surprised Levy would let him go, but with fees of £85M being touted - not worth that at all. Will be a major loss for them, they won't be able to bring in a replacement of his quality.
