No, they enter from the bottom right corner between the two J blocks of the Holmesdale and the Main Stand.

Gotcha. Now I’m oriented as to the beginning of the coverage.

Honestly Penton Man, I couldn't say. I have been to away games where fans have been great, loud and constantly chanting/singing. I have returned to the same ground a year later and it's like a library. Basically, it's very hard to say. What I will say is fans don't seem as vocal in the last couple of years. Often, there is large chunks of time where you can hear the players talking to each other. The Stoke V Swansea game was like a grave yard on Monday night.

Just for the record Penton Man, I only make a couple of away games per season. It works out too expensive along with my season ticket to attend more than that.

I've noticed that a LOT on recent TV games, it's weird being able to hear them bark instructions at each other.

I dunno if you watch the darts on Sky Steed but in the last couple of years they've dialled down the crowd noise whenever a naughty chant comes up and I *think* they've been doing the same on the football recently.

I don't mate, not my thing. I'm not really a sport person, I love footy, enjoy some boxing (preferred the days of Eubank, Tyson etc.. and I can enjoy the odd session of snooker) but all other sport I find a bit dull.

Yeah, you could be right. It happens a lot live as well, so I don't think it's entirely down to Sky. I do think fans are becoming disconnected with the team in general.

I understand, but do the announcers and commentators you guys watch ever allude to what they think are the loudest or most passionate stadiums?

Over here in the U.S. I think we have a different team of announcers (working for NBCSN) than you U.K. folks do and they don't speak about that aspect much.

Our announcer is IMO, borderline embarrassing. Barely audible and always seems to cock up the volume IMO. The music, on the other hand, nearly shakes the ground.

In general, we don't really do that Penton Man. We don't even have cheer leaders, although Geoff's boys still have them I believe (lucky git!)

No, I didn't make myself clear, I was referring t the assessment of crowd noise, etc. by the TV announcers, e.g. Sky, BBC whoever brings you the feed over there.

They do.

Bottom right corner vis-a-vis Geoff's help with the diagram.

If they have, I haven't seen it. I know there was articles where they measured decibels a couple of years ago and Stoke City came out top. Not sure I would trust that system though.

In actual tv terms though, to my knowledge they haven't done that. I stand corrected though.

No even casual consensus (non-scientific) as to what ground exhibits the greatest support?...or has that reputation. My impression just from watching the matches on TV, Crystal Palace and Liverpool would be right up there near the top...esp. every time I hear the opening of a Liverpool home match.

But I just don't trust TV feeds because you showed me they can be flawed awhile ago when we were discussing Chelsea fan support.

Well, we are incredibly tribal in the U.K. We would dispute anyone who claims to be the loudest.

I doubt any team could match the Roker Roar at its loudest.
