(It wasn't until after the match that I actually got to see the what the display looked like!)

Then it was down to the business of completing the league season unbeaten! And in that sense it was business as usual for Celtic. An opener from Leigh Griffiths followed by a close range second from Stuart Armstrong allowed Celtic to put on a bit of an exhibition for the remainder of the match, with Patrick Roberts the star entertainer.

Indeed, and I see a personal side effect of the outcome being that maybe it will put even more pressure on the Arsenal board to do something......as Man U qualifying for the Champions League makes it a more attractive place for recruiting world class talent as compared to Arsenal.

Allardyce upped and quit. He won't even get his £2M bonus for keeping us up! (Which is what caused the acrimony with Pulis: the bastard waited until the payment was made in early August before quitting, but the intent behind delaying it that long is so that the manager doesn't decide to just bugger off the minute that the season finishes!)

He says it was nothing to do with transfers but I think it was no coincidence that he quit on the day that Defoe announced he'd be going to Bournemouth, I reckon he didn't get the assurances from the board that he was looking for (having spent £40M just in the January window). And given the soul-searching that he did during the season about whether he really could turn it around at Palace I think he's kinda realised that this is only ever gonna be his lot in the Premiership: Fireman Sam, always coming to the rescue.

He had the Big Job, THE biggest managerial job for any Englishman, but had to go after just 67 days and that will haunt him for the rest of his life. He was never, ever going to manage an Arsenal or Chelski or Man Utd so the England post really was the pinnacle for him and he's never gonna be back there again. He went to Palace to see if he'd get the taste for management back again, and he eventually did, BUT he just doesn't want another season of toil and struggle on the pitch and battling with the owners in the boardroom so he's jacked it in.

That's my take on it, FWIW.

I 100% have Tob's blessing Penton Man. I intend to post updates etc.,

I haven't posted as much lately simply because we all knew our fate before the last game. Tob, yourself and D-Blitz were disappointed about missing out on 4th place and the rest of us knew our fate also.
