Sad to see a club like that in this kind of mess.

A draw against Leicester is better than no points (Chadli scored for us, putting us 1-0 up, before Leicester equalised later on). Gone up one place to 10th (we dropped down to 11th place after this past weekend's games. Southampton next (this coming Saturday afternoon).

Didn't watch much of the two Match of the Day programmes this past weekend, as we weren't playing until tonight (and I've been playing catch-up with the planner).

There was no Women's Football Show on last (Sunday) night, because there is an international break. Two weeks ago, the Sunderland ladies team were towards the bottom of the WSL1 (there are ten teams in the WSL1), but a week ago they won their game that week (or weekend) and moved up to 3rd place. The Arsenal ladies team are in 6th place at the moment and the Everton ladies team are currently in 9th place.

I watched MOTD for the first time this season but me being me I missed the Palace highlights as they were right at the start of the effing programme. Taped the 'match choice' thing on Sky though so I got to see Palace win for the first time since May. Huzzah!!

2018 World Cup Play Off Draw

N.Ireland v Switzerland

Croatia v Greece

Denmark v Republic of Ireland

Sweden v Italy

First legs to be played on November 9 and 11.
Second legs to be played on November 12 and 14.

Good draw for us because i didn't want to get Sweden or Italy and we got the second leg at home which will be a advantage.

Yeah, you've gotta be happy with avoiding Italy. Not surprised that Shakespeare's gone.

Happy but still going to be hard against Denmark and like yourself not surprised they sacked him.

I watched match choice about six times last year. I couldn’t bear it when we lost and that was a LOT

It's going to sound harsh, but after the way Ranieri was treated by Leicester City, I don't have a lot of sympathy for Shakespeare.

Good luck against Denmark Tob.

Another stinker by Everton yesterday. Not to mention that unnecessary melee caused by Williams. That's quite inexcusable. Even the stupid fans got involved. Geez, what a mess. I don't think Koeman has a lot left to turn this ship around. We have some hard games coming up in the next month against the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Lyon and Watford, and most of them on the road too. I can't see any short term improvement against competition like that. This is a 200 million pound clusterf*ck that's going down for the count.

Good luck against Denmark in the playoffs tob. You guys got this.

Great win against Chelsea the other week Geoff. It's about time your squad got a good result mate. I hope you guys keep it up against Newcastle tomorrow.

Steed, sorry things haven't improved for your guys. Those wins are sure hard to come by for both of our squads at the moment. Not an encouraging sign. Then again, I realize things haven't looked very encouraging for your team for quite a while.

I'm actually surprised that Shakespeare lasted this long considering how dirty they did Ranieri earlier this year. Leicester is a joke. No real coach is going to want to take that job now. Not if they have any dignity at least.

Koeman doesn't know his right team and formation still and that's a bad sign.
I didn't expect Everton to be this poor both in the league and Europe but your right gvortex7 he doesn't know how to turn things around.

I know. That is sad. What's really sad is that I really like the guy. He is a genuinely likable guy, and I think he is a great football mind and solid coach, but he seemed to have lost gasp of things here at Everton. I think he's a bit over his head now, and I don't think he can come back from that. Not when you have invested so much capital into a failure of a team. There has to be some accountability at some point, and it's only natural that is starts with the manager.
This will never change my opinion of the man though. I will always revere him for what he did on the Dutch national team in the 80's (especially at Euro 88), and a little later on at Barcelona.

Why do you think Alan Pardew threw his hat into the ring?

As for Everton, it's sad to see you guys stuck in such a rut. Hope you can turn it around soon. I fully expect Palace to lose at Newcastle though, it's just the Palace way
