Since we've been back in the Prem our record against Utd reads thusly: P9 L9. (Plus the cup final.) We've managed to beat every team in the current top six at least once in this five-year stay in the top-flight (beaten Chelski and Liverpool several times at that) but ****ing Utd we just can't get a thing from and I'm not expecting any more from Monday's game.

It's not that Utd can't have an 'off' day, it's Palace having an 'on' day to coincide with it that's the problem and they've started to dry up after that super run we went on. Our injuries are really taking their toll (don't just mean Zaha, Sako looked like he might be the answer to our scoring problems and then BAM, Zabaleta takes him out and he fractures his ankle) and Benteke's so useless he's starting to make Ade Akinbadbuy look like bleedin' Pele.

I fancy them for some reason. Don’t ask me why!

Boy am I glad I didn't watch that, I'd have felt like taking a long walk off a short pier. Feel gutted as it is, watching it live would've been a sickener. Oh well, losing to these teams won't relegate us but we MUST beat 'uddersfield. Chelsea first though, you never know which Chelsea will turn up but with Palace's porous defence they're making it so difficult for themselves, even when going 2-0 up.

Your team showed so much fight tonight Geoff. You deserved a point.

Eh, what can you do? We were the ones scoring late goals to salvage or even win games earlier in the season but now those old frailties are creeping right back in at the very worst possible time. Loved reading the stats on the BBC website too, this is the first time that Utd have won a game that they were losing at half time for a full 28 attempts, and Matic's first goal for Utd just had to come tonight, didn't it? These Palace lads are generous to a fault.

Still all to play for. Losing to the big teams won't relegate us as we need to be beating those around us but if we can't do that either, then....

As for us, can it get any worse? Massive debt and Division 1. Oh and a (in my opinion) utterly disgusting footballer sitting on 60,000 grand a week I understand. Can’t get near the first team but apparently he is fit. Jack Rodwell, who according to the local press has cost us 8 million in wages so far seems happy to not play for the rest of his SAFC career and bleed us dry.

Oh and Darren Gibson has allegedly crashed his car into several parked cars yesterday. I am hoping it’s not alcohol related but knowing this football club it will be.

What has happened to my once great club?

Well I’ll tell ya, after the 1st Leg of the Liverpool v. Man City champions league match, as a neutral observer it is hard not to admire their hustle and team work. Looking forward to the 2nd leg to see if Man City can pull a rabbit out of the hat and progress to the semis because I believe only they would be able to win it all (if they were to get to the Final).

Though if the Man City players are totally spent after this weekend’s ManU match, I see it being very difficult for them to recover in time….however, on thee other hand, Liverpool has a derby of its own to fight….so who knows?

Next several days should be very interesting.

The thread is virtually dead Penton Man. I was pretty much posting on my own for weeks and I just thought why bother? Geoff still occasionally posts but that’s about it. No one gives a crap about SAFC if we are honest. So it just felt like I was talking to myself. I just post in local football forums now. I think our bud Tob does the same, although I’m not certain.

Sad the way the thread has died but it is what it is.

I only just discovered this football thread - shows I need to explore this forum a little more.

To be fair, I'm only a neutral football TV viewer. I don't actually have any allegiance to any club, but I do enjoy a good game of football.

However, I do work with many Liverpool fans and I can say there was a good deal of cheer after they beat Man City twice in the UEFA competition. Poor old Guardiola is having a tough week after losing also to Man Utd on Saturday at home .....what a game that was. I enjoyed every minute of it.

Liverpool were brilliant over the two legs against Man.City but i don't think they can win the European Cup if they get Bayern.Munich or Real.Madrid in the semi final draw tomorrow.

Thanks for that mate.

Only caught the 2nd half, but well done to Arsenal for getting through to the semis in Moscow.

I think you're right there mate. I thought Barcelona would have got through, but with them out of the picture now, Real Madrid look like favourites to win it.
