There was an announcement today that a new provider called Eleven Sports is taking the La Liga off Sky Sports from next season for 3 years. British newspaper, The Independent, have exclusively reported that Eleven Sports are also expected to take the remaining tranche of live PL rights for the UK & Irish market. This will leave Eleven Sports with a possible total of 40 matches from the start of their new contract period with the PL. This will also put BT in 3rd place with 32 PL matches. Sky is still in 1st place though with 128 PL matches for the new contract period.

I'm rather sad about them losing the rights to La Liga though, as I used to enjoy watching Spanish matches. I bet it won't stop Sky from increasing their subscription costs though.

So basically, if you want to watch all Premier League matches, you now have to take out THREE lots of subscriptions. I'm seriously beginning to consider just scrapping the whole thing altogether.

The Spanish teams have great technique and its a joy to watch but there is no strong competition to Barcelona and Real Madrid for the title and that can get boring every season.
I like to see Sky get the rights to Italian football if they can people might call the football they play boring but i like at times to see tactical and good defensive football.

I like Italian football too Tob, and I do watch it sometimes on BT Sport. As for La Liga, you're right, it's all Barcelona and Real Madrid at the moment. Now that Deportivo La Coruña look set to drop down, I probably won't be as interested as much now in Spanish games.

The trouble is watching football on TV is becoming very expensive with both Sky and BT. I've no idea how much Eleven Sports are going to charge, but I don't think I'll bother subscribing to 3 networks.

I agree about too many networks having different games today now and i am worried it will get worse in the future CV19.

If you're interested watching back games on the EFL; Quest have announced today that they are to show a highlights package on a new 4 year deal.

Talking of Sky, after the reshuffle of their channel listings a couple of days ago, I had hoped 'Sky Sports Mix' would have moved over and joined the other sport channels which begin at Channel 401. Instead I've noticed it's still on Channel 121 for some bizarre reason.

It’s a mess mate. Lots of people have said so but I think Sky needs another update to sort things out.

You're right there mate, it is a mess. I just had a look at their EPG again and at the moment Channels 416, 420 and 421 are vacant, and then from 434 to 449 likewise. You'd think Sports Mix could be slotted into one of these making it easier to view the schedules all in one place instead of having to switch back and forth. Perhaps Eleven Sports will take up some slots.

I would get shot of Sky if a full HD away games season ticket was offered for individual clubs. I would still go to all the home games though.

That wouldn't be a bad idea at all. Sky I feel are just getting too greedy now. I've already ditched the movie channels as it seemed to be the same films over and over again - and mostly animated & kids stuff. I'd rather buy the blu-ray of films I want to see instead.

Sky store is quite good but like you say, I have the discs in better quality.
