It'll be carnage if we win through.

The brother's got his best mate's wedding on the day of the final - the mate supposedly checked the date to make sure it didn't clash with any important footy fixtures - last laugh on him though, he's a Liverpool fan and it's on the same day!

It's also the eldest's birthday, oops.

Mrs Spectre not happy.

Oh well.....

Ah well, not to be. Que sera an' all that crap!

Fair result over the two legs - no real complaints.

They'll probably walk the final, can't really see either Villa or Boro causing them too many problems.

Time for me to hit the scotch I think.....

I'm willing to bet the same women who despise football are the same ones who are happy to watch Wimbledon for the two weeks every year. I realise everyone likes different things, but honestly, tennis must be the most boring sport ever invented. Even cricket is more entertaining.

The first goal seemed to suck the life out of you guys. Hard luck, but you can come again next season. I know how disappointing it is though.

I actually think Villa will go up.

Yeah tennis is boring but didn’t mind watching Anna Kournikova.

I’m not really a big sport guy. I love footy, boxing and I quite like snooker and that’s it.

I do like snooker too, although don't watch it as much as I used to. Darts occasionally, depending on who's playing, and the odd rugby match but never really follow that on a regular basis. However football is definitely the one for me.

Love me some footy, tennis, darts, boxing, golf, snooker, F1, athletics, ice hockey, even some Kabaddi if the mood strikes me. I'm not so nutty about all of them that I simply have to watch every single morsel of coverage from every league around (can't stand Spanish football, for example), but I couldn't even if I wanted to as there wouldn't be enough hours in the day.

I don't mind Spanish football so much, although it's all about Real Madrid and Barcelona now. I liked it better a few years back when Deportivo La Coruña were in the top half of the table, but it has now been relegated unfortunately.

What I don't like is the commentators constant obsession with Ronaldo and Messi. In any Real Madrid match, all you'd hear is Ronaldo this, Ronaldo that, Ronaldo blah blah blah. And the thing that got me was when he had a shite game and scored nothing, it was always someone else's fault for not giving him the service. But when he did OK and scored a couple of goals, he got all the credit. Personally, I can't stand the guy.

Have to say, I'm particularly loving the F1 this year. Can't remember actually enjoying it so much in absolutely ages!

Also love rugby (Union), cricket, tennis, golf....to be fair, most sports, except horse racing, which I just find incredibly tedious.

I struggle with foreign football though. I can watch it if the mood takes me, but ordinarily, I just gave little interest. It's odd as I can put the telly on and perfectly happily watch Rochdale vs Bury, yet switch over to Barcelona vs Atletico and I can barely muster interest.

Lately I've tended to stay clear of any Madrid or Barcelona matches, and much rather watch two teams near the bottom of the table fighting to survive and stay in La Liga. I've watched in previous years the so-called "El Clasico", and they're not necessarily the most entertaining matches to watch I have to say.

I'm perfectly happy to watch football from any of the English football leagues, and the Vanarama national league which pops up on BT Sport.

I don't watch too much football anymore.
Being a Rugby Union fan I find the pansie will nilly simply ridiculous.

Rugby - F1 - Cricket = The Good Life

We never see these two players of such talent again in a long time breaking records every season.
I know the media today repeat the same thing about Ronaldo and Messi again and again but they are a special talent CV19.
The type of player or player's , i admire are the one's who work hard, conduct them self with pride and don't look for the spotlight or attention and these type of player's played a big part in a club's history think for example Denis Irwin when he was at Man.United or A.Iniesta at Barcelona.

Yeah, but when you're in two teams that have dominated the Spanish footballing landscape like they've done (honourable mention to Atleti in recent years) and are surrounded by some of the other best players on the planet then it doesn't strike me as being all that special, you know? The two men are undoubtedly footballing geniuses, I just don't feel the need to worship at their feet. Messi turning it on at this year's World Cup would go a long way to making me see things differently, mind. If he can drag Argentina along by their bootstraps Maradona-style to lift that trophy then that will affirm his greatness, although I won't credit Ronny for Portugal's anti-football approach to winning the Euro's last time out.

Going back to Geoff D and his post the first and second line Ronaldo showed what he could do in a more demanding league in England every week and the Premier League has no Winter Break but i assume in the way you put it that he was surround by good players at United too which he was but he stood out from Sporting Lisbon to Real Madrid and Portugal.
I admire the man's talent and Messi and so on but i am not one to feel the need to worship at their feet like other's do.
I do agree both player's have still not delivered on the international stage for their countries put aside that Portugal are European Champions still don't know how they did it.
