A bit different than SuperBit . There are different levels of benefit with the ‘Mastered in 4K’ Blus.

Greatest benefit be to those with a Sony Triluminos display chain (Blu-ray player and TV) in order to take advantage of the *Expanded Color*( https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...ab#post7391680 ) ……and a Sony 4K Triluminos tv, for the later will recognize the metadata on the disc and kick in a proprietary upscaling algorithm which is based upon the same used at Sony Pictures to have downscaled the motion picture from 4K to HD in the first place.

Least benefit be to those with none of the above, i.e. you do get the benefit of a 4K digital master used as the source and a home media encoding with a cbr of roughly 34Mbps - 40Mbps….which begs the question to longtime bitrate followers and debators, exactly how useful/important are bitrates in the upper thirties for the vast majority of the footage of typical motion pictures.

Look, sometimes it's not just about the links. Disney has scanned all of their animated movies at 4K, this is just something that's been known for ever. Most of these Disney titles are listed on Lowry/Reliance Media's website. Same with a lot of Warner titles.

Most of these movies have screenshots on Capsaholic website. It's very easy to see the difference between a 4K scan and telecine.

And a link to what are you looking for? A review, where the reviewer made the same logical assumption? A press release from the studio? A blog? Twitter?

I posted you a quote and a link directly from Van Ling, who was working on the remaster of The Terminator, before he left the project. How much more proof can you possibly need?

The Top Gun 3D conversion was done at 2K.
Some of the others are the usual wild speculation by "nagysaudio".

No reviews, simple press release will do.
Also some of those aren't even out yet.

If you're only accepting press release directly from the studio, then you will miss out on 90% of the 4K scans. In which case, what's the point?

A Fistful of Dollars was restored in 4K, but this transfer is not the one that was released in North America. The 4K restoration is only available on the Italian release, to my knowledge.

Take a look at second to the last page. 99.9% of all of these are 4K. Should take a while to update your list.

The notes inside the booklet of the Italian release, state 2K. Whether that's an error, I don't know. They definitely mention DFL doing the work.
The German release stems from the same scan, but they tweaked the brightness levels, (improved, IMO).

I think the italian blu-rays of Leone's movies might have been scanned at 4K but restored and finished at 2K.

Keep in mind that Leone used Techniscope that is just 2-perf 35mm; I think the negative can't even reach 4K resolution at least in detail...

What about a 2K scan and a telecine? What about a 4K scan downsampled for a 2K DI?
If I didn't know any better I might think Rushmore had a 4K remaster, but it was mastered at 2K: http://media.cinemasquid.com/blu-ray...hot-lrg-25.png
Or I might think that the 1985 Fright Night is an older telecine transfer, though it's actually a 4K scan, according to Robert Harris: https://images4.static-bluray.com/re...68_5_1080p.jpg
So, while you can certainly make a case that visual quality is the more important parameter than the resolution of the master, if the resolution is your parameter of interest, looking at it is not the most reliable way to tell.

Techniscope has the same horizontal resolution as any other 35mm movie that doesn't use the soundtrack area on the negative (ie, anything that isn't super35 or silent). It's just vertically cropped. It gets a needlessly poor reputation, IMO, I've seen some great looking prints made from 2-perf negatives.

Ok I did not know this. Is the PS3 supported?
Will this be the color Rec 2020 then?

Also are these discs Region All?

Also to your last question the high bit rate discs I own also looks the best so very important.
