Love these two Youtube celebrities! They are very a/v suave.

Just sent them both Panasonic's UB820 for review.

These are upgrades that enhance the image performance and will not show up by just measuring the peak luminance and amount of local dimming zones.
I really can't wait for people such as yourself and Vincent to get started on the Z9Fs, in particular the 75". Would like Geoff to be able to do his thing also. Perhaps you could send him a demo unit?

Why not get the Z9D? They are still out there and at a reasonable price. With the announcement of it's replacement the prices are only going to get better.

correct – https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...y#post14602674

and the importance of that algo for consumer displays should not be underestimated.

In our living room my TV Chair is off axis near 50 degrees. And maybe 15 feet from TV Screen. So I need a Z9F or a Z9G( Hopefully with a one central stand and not the 4 crab leg stand of Z9F)

An articulating wall mount would be a good match for your needs.

Wait
Wait.
Wait.

I'm at 50 degrees.
But the lady of the house TV Chair is at zero degrees.
And she gets, demands(haha) direct front axis view.

My viewing would suck. But not with Z9F or G(?).
Our TV is sitting on top an AV console.

Well it's hard to have anything said without any real world impressions (meaning once the set is in our homes and people are able to get actual scientific measurements from it), but that's allegedly what Sony are saying, and what people who have seen the set in person at the reveal event have said. It's supposed to have a much wider viewing angle.

Did anybody catch John Archers article today stating that the Z9F viewing angle only applies to colors? Apparently Sony intentionally only used demos with full screen bright colors, so evaluating blacks was hard to do. But John caught a glimpse of some blacks at an angle and noticed it wasn't good so he talked to a Sony rep and the rep confirmed that the viewing angles are colors only, not blacks. Solving the blacks off angle looks to be a much bigger hurdle than colors.

Does that mean if we watch Star Wars then we can only see the stars. And the outer space blacks won't be there? When at seating view off axis angles.

Probably not much better in price ahead. Because Z9D has 3D and can easily command a Premium price

It already almost impossible to get 3D 2016 LG OLEDs anywheres.

The Z9D 65" can be had for under $3k. Probably half the price of the Z9F at launch.

Early reports say 3500 for the 65z9f at launch. It will definitely be competitive. My friend works at ABC WAREHOUSE and his computer shows MSRP 6999 for the 75Z9F. Sony tvs almost always launch "on sale" from the MSRP. The 65" not listed yet.

That would be an excellent price. Unfortunately, it would drive down the price of my used Z9D if I were to sell it and upgrade.

Not sure about the raised blacks of axis. I looked at the Z9F very carefully off axis and did not notice the blacks degrading much. Certainly not any more than the colors and all picture quality elements looks amazingly good for a VA LCD panel.

On another matter, I've been working on building our Z9F and A8F web pages with .pdf spec sheets. Check them out and give me feedback on what else you'd like to see and any suggestions of any kind. Still a work in progress, but ready to show now.
