For the Z9F and A9F all 4 HDMI inputs are the full 18Gbps capable. Not sure what they are referring to when they listed 6Gbps. It's likely a typo or referring to a different spec.

looks like I'll be looking for a used tv that has 4k and 3d. i am beyond pissed that I sunk all that money into 3d and now being told pretty much to F$$$ $$$ by sony and other tv manufactures. The Z was my last hope I had been looking at it but 4500 is a heavy lift for me right now. Guess I'm sticking with my 52 xbr 1080 for a while.

This alone should have been more than enough reason for manufactures to keep 3D into their TVs.

Bluskiff

I was at a Home TV store yesterday. Thinking whats right for our family. Z9F, Z9D, AF9, C8, AF8? Thinking TV Stand. TV speakers. I have 5.1.2 Atmos but for some family members they just wanna use a good quality TV speakers. The Sony Z's has poor speakers 10w+10w with disappointing Bass.

Sales Rep told me 65inch Z9D is $2999.
But keep eyes open for big Labor Day sales. Or Sony price drops.
$2500 would be very attractive and with 3D too

Spent bit of time looking at Sony slanted OLEDs.
Tried to adjust to Liking It slanted. Slanted OLEDs just don't View right. It's pretty. But TV Image is compromised by my eyes. It's like the gradient picture quality on its top third of the screen just looks off. Very apparent by my eyes. Maybe perfectly OK by other peoples eyes.

We do have a large 3D disc collection. We were fortunate to buy one of the few 65 inch 3D G6 OLEDs left in the country. This TV is in a Home Office/TV room.

We are looking at Sony's for our Atmos TV Room. But because of nature of our Living Room only specific TV sizes and TV tables will fit.

Sony's new A9F does not have the same lean back, it's much less and not noticeable. Here's a picture of the new A9F that I took at Sony's Press Conference.

Thank you Robert. For the lean back info. Very interesting!

FYI.

Sony Europe said AF9 warranty covers OLED Burn Ins.
Robert can you confirm if this is true for USA?
Man. That will make a lot of AF9 Lookers become Buyers.

I do not expect Burn in warranty coverage. I'm actually very surprised to hear the Sony EU would cover burn in. I'd like to check out the post, please PM or post the link.

I read the Sony Europe reply which was made 16 hours ago.
A guy in the comments asked about warranty coverage for AF9 OLED's burn in.

Robert YouTube search that video title. Look at comment section.

Youtube from Sony Europe

I'd call that a mistake by the rep.

Image retention and or burn-in is not covered under any manufacturers warranty.

I’m curious, are you referring to a USA or European price?

I just looked at Best Buy price on the 65 Z9D today, and it was $3000.
The 75” model was still $7000 unfortunately.

Wow, $4,000 premium for that old 75" model. When she first came out she was closer to $9,000

You pay for size and for Sony, but old is good...she has 3D.

To Robert. And European AV Enthusiasts.

Regards Europe AF9 OLED. Or even ZF9 LED.

Does'nt Europe have like a strong government implemented consumer protection policy that includes TV's. In other words a Lemon protection.

So Euro AV Stores must obligate.

I don't know about EU rules, so this may be true, but burn-in has nothing to do with the TV being defective or being a lemon.

Buying a Sony Z9F in the EU.

Even buying the Sony A9F OLED for that matter...

Quote:
Free of charge, 2-year guarantee (legal guarantee) for all goods
Under EU rules you always have the right to a minimum 2-year guarantee at no cost, regardless of whether you bought your goods online, in a shop or by mail order.

This 2-year guarantee is your minimum right. National rules in your country may give you extra protection: however, any deviation from EU rules must always be in the consumer's best interest.

If goods you bought anywhere in the EU turn out to be faulty or do not look or work as advertised, the seller must repair or replace them free of charge or give you a price reduction or a full refund.

Gosh. No problem or fear if X-Wide fails in 2 years.
Or OLEDs developed Burn-Ins with in 2 years.

So I guess Sony EU posting for A9F OLED Burn In to be covered by Sony warranty(what for one year)... is like a given by consumers one way or another. What a confidence builder. 2 years protection.

Not to argue further, but I don't see Burn-in covered in your quote and this is in no way what we have in the USA.

Post that @ that other site from hell and they'll think you're serious and they'll ban you for life. Not the mention that price shouldn't be mentioned in any circumstances.

Yeah, I really think that review sites like Rtings - which IS a great site with great information from a scientific perspective - really makes people worry about things quite needlessly. While numbers may look less than ideal in some of their reports/reviews, that doesn't mean it's going to look awful to the user at home.

I'm sure the Z9D is fine. If the Z9F gets price put out there soon and it's way too rich for my blood, the Z9D is something I'm going to try and hunt down.
