PQ on the Master Series Sony TVs. Is even much better than what one sees in the Movie Theaters. Where there is Theater's Director's Intent.
Yes but I have to call out Sony’s intent to make it as difficult as possible to play their media in Home due to their copy guard that makes it impossible to place their media on one’s server. So I have a tough time believing their desire to recreate the director’s intent in the home environment.

ZD9 as runner up is not OLED. For Bright room. For video processing.

From Forbes article of hdtvtest shootout...
Quote:
It’s important to note, however, that many attendees praised the LG E6 for its vibrant colours, strong Dolby Vision HDR performance and the total absence of the sort of light haloing/backlight bleed issues the LCD screens all exhibited to some extent.
Did the attendees noticed OLED's deep Blacks??
Or Total Black in Space scenes?

Hmmm. Z9D was'nt even at that shootout? It's a really quality LCD

That sums up those shootouts in a nutshell, really: when they're all so blatantly pro-OLED the other tech is shafted before it's even given a fair shake. 'twas ever thus

FWIW on my ZD9's calibrated mode to track the HDR brightness curve correctly it still resolves about 2000 nits worth of highlight information (roughly the peak of the actual TV's brightness) which is plenty good enough for most discs, and I've got my lower brightness calibration which knocks about a third of brightness off but resolves nearer 4000 nits. Trust me, losing specular highlight detail vs pretty much any other TV in the land isn't an issue for the ZD9, and now that it's got Dolby Vision anyway then the mapping is even more finely tuned when watching that content.

Brasilia states
Quote:
The reason I use the Shootout results but prefer the ZD9 over there opinions, is because I value certain things differently than the Shootout judges.

The LG seems to crush blacks and less than black areas. The pic of Sandra Bulluck in Gravity that I think Vincent showed was - for me - a death seal for any LG OLED purchase, until they get better processing. I also give more importance to brightness that the Shootout reviewers, and less to absolute black. If ZD9 handles shadow detail better than LG, that is more important to me than having an absolute black in all circumstances - I'd rather see the shadows and less than black, rather than folding these into black and losing detail and naunce.

I might prefer that ZD9 had not chosen overall brightness instead of spectral highlights. It would have allowed ZD9 to put LG to shame with far greater ability with spectral highlights and brightness. On the other hand if I saw the results, I might change my mind back again.

For my tastes OLED is too dim, and detail crushing. So LG isn't even in the ball park for my tastes until they fix their processing.

If you do a Side-Side at home watching a 4K HDR10, Dolby Vision Movie Late Evening, night on any Z9D and E6, G6 OLED...

I sincerely think your opinions stated is not accurate in real world. Shadow details, Darks, dark contrast shadings.

And G6 OLED(AF9 OLED) is in no ways Dim watching these movies late evening.

I

If it makes you feel better I will take the zd9 off you for £200, if that helps you buy the z9f.
And yes, I have been saying for ages thato it's OLED or bust for them, and they chastise an LCD with below 500 nits but praise an OLED that's lower as they love dem blacks

Vincient, HDTV, reviewed 700-800 nits at 10% window not below 500 nits.

HDR Movies mode in evenings. What did Vicient show for Bright Hightlight nits 10% window in the Zed's ??? 2000 nits? 4000 nits? When he procalibrates a set

I'm excited for Vincients review of A9F and Z9F's.
I think both Sony's will become Award TV's

Nah you're alright Mike, although £200 is about all I'm gonna get for my old 55X9005B! Mad how the prices for these things just drop through the floor.

Sony is getting into the OLED TV business in a big way.
It's not because OLEDs is a truly handicap'd PQ technology.

Sigh. !

This thread used to be about the Sony Z9F series lcd line.
Now as usual it has been turned into an oled v lcd thread.
Thanks for your spam as per other threads you have posted in.

2017 Q9F was 9999, 2018 version is 5499. You were looking at the wrong model. Sounds like the Z9F will be competitively priced. The 75" market has not only gotten better picture quality wise, but the prices have been slashed big time over the past year or so.

The Z9F is as good as when compared to. All by itself there is no discussion, we buy it today and we're happy till next year when the Z9G comes up.

Bob.

The Z been in a 2 year cycle.

G maybe in year 2020.
The Japanese Olymbic year.
But that's the year of the 8K

Question is will Z9F have the HDMI 2.1 Chip in. But Sony keeps Mum. Like Z9D had Dolby Vision chip but kept Mum for a long time. If my old memory serves
