It should be less than a week before we hear first impressions. Some people have reported that they may be able to pick theirs up as early as the 10th.

Try to spend a late afternoon over the bridge in Coronado walking along the beach in front of the Del and thereabouts as it will give you a chance to soak your feet in the Pacific and you might even spot one of the Team (Seals) running by to stay in shape.

You would think we would hear about bad blooming from people who have seen the tv. But, since we havent, I guess that means its not really that noticeable? People who put the videos up should write or say, "blooming caused by camera. Because to me, every video ive seen the camera brightness changes based on the content and angle.

Z9F
Brightness specs in the Chart.
By Various window sizes(@HDR).

I find the Z9F brightness Excellent for our home. And with its X-Wide our family will be Happy as Clams. So Excited to see it in the Stores. And apparently soon.

Brightness seems fine. I watch most content in a dark room so I don’t really need 2000+ nits burning my eyes off. I’m still wondering about the color volume, that contrast and dimming zones though...

Apparently it’s ready for pickup in some Best Buy’s in SoCal and I think New York (from what I read over at AVSForums).

Oh Im good with it too.

So basically one review in. Just talking brightness and saying picture quality wise it isn't much better than the D. But they don't get into Uniformity, Contrast, Dimming, the X-Motion thing

(Now the question is, will the Panasonic 820 get this update?)

I bit. I went to the Magnolia at my local Best Buy this evening and pre-ordered the 65” Z9F. Might be a couple/few weeks before I get it though.

Good job scoring a 65" Z9F, supply is very constrained and I scooped up all that were available in our channel.

Hope you can join us for our 14th annual TV Shootout, Sunday Sept. 23rd. You will see Sony's Z9F and A9F butt next to the other flagship TVs from the premium manufacturers.

I’ll definitely share but there will be a bunch of impressions already out there by then, so my opinion will likely just get swallowed up. Upgrading from a Vizio M55-D0 from 2016 also likely means I’m going to think this TV is amaze-balls no matter what. That said, I have a keen eye for uniformity, motion handling, blooming and black levels so, I’ll probably be more helpful from an ‘average Joe’ perspective in those regards.

I still wanna hear your thoughts on it for exactly that reason. Pro reviews are great and all (well, the ones who know what they're talking about) for getting measurements and whatnot but they don't live with the TV from day to day. They set it up, run a load of patterns and test sequences and a day or two later it's gone. And having it on a shop floor surrounded by loads of other TVs isn't the best way to assess its finer points either, it's only the long-term owners who really get to know the pros and cons of any TV so you make sure to keep letting us know what it's like. You'll have the 'IMAX Mode' on the ZF9 so you can be our guinea pig for that as well.
