Thats quite Interesting__different presentation from his previous Forbes article: "Sony XBR-65Z9F (65ZF9) Review: Cloudy With A Chance Of Awesome" I like all the ZF9 TV Settings discussion. Reading both articles has it merits. Today was the first time I read that TrustedReviews.com article. Im pretty excited. For my new TV is delivered and installed tommorow. I will test a lot of 4k Dolby Vision disc movies for DV Specular Hightlights can get very Bright. Even with many Rich Deep Dark Shadings in surrounding backgrounds. Testing DV Disc Player will be the OPPO 203 with its most recient Firmware. I will need to find a HT AV Store with a DV Disc Player attached to the Z9F. I will bring my most Reference Level Quality DV movie Discs. I have a keen eye for PQ features comparison. Last edited by E6AtmosVuduDV; 10-05-2018 at 05:26 PM. Reason: Finishing. Grammer |

I have the Z9D delivered by BB/Magnolia tommorow. My return window is 30 days(the new purchase will push me to BB Elite Plus, thats 45 days return window). Would'nt that be a Z9F Testing Trip! We are going to San Diego in the near future. San Diego should have an AV HT Store with a DV Disc Player attached. Somewhere in that Metro Area. Maybe North County SD. I have lots HDR10 discs. But I have a lot of DV Discs as well. How DV on a Display is very important for our family. Which can Spread Out in a room too. A Final Decision will be made. A new TV will stay. Happiness is a Colorful Thing. Many Things or features can be chosen from its Wonder. Each Family decides. helvetica. Would have loved to go with you to Robert's Value Electronics. We are too far away. NY NY NY. Last edited by E6AtmosVuduDV; 10-05-2018 at 06:43 PM. Reason: Finishing |

The second 75 Z9F owner has posted on AVSforum. With screen shots from Pan movie I think.
Interesting blooming above and below. Least from my smartphone view. He has interesting screen photo capture from a Black and White scene. Look for Marvins interesting post on his 75 Z9F. Note, I believe the 75 has like 280 dimming zones. And thus likely do better than the 65 Z9F regards to raising Blacks, Blooming, etc Marvin is a Gamer. His 75 Z9F charms him. Today.
Oct 5th Vincent put up his A9F Video review(early morning there was a Vincent Twitter AF9 heads-up I read). I listened closely for many TECHs in the video for they often shares concepts with the Z9F's. Lots Learning here. Very important for me is Sony Dolby Vision presentation from DV Disc play. Gosh! Vincent's video so important to this regards. Await with much anticipation for HDTVtest Vincent's review of the Z9F and Z9F's Dolby Vision presentation. helvetica bold.
Vincent said you can change the gamma to brighten DV or use DV Bright picture mode. Doing that clips details in the brights. See his blu arrows on the screen. Vincent's DV presentation was using DV Dark picture mode. The comparing Calibrated LG OLED was also DV Dark picture mode. Which showed the AF9 DV picture too dark by comparison. Change gamma or picture mode clipped the brights. Marvin's 75 inch ZF9 was using the Cinema picture mode for HDR. He did'nt say he used DV Dark. Besides he needs another calibrated TV side by side to his Z9F to know if DV presentaton was darker. And if a different gamma or picture mode would clip brights. Helvetica you really need to bring a Z9F home and make your own comparisons. Make settings changes for DV and see if clips of brights occur. |

![]() ShootOut Judges did Pause at 5hr 47 min shows the slight raised blacks in cinema bars from 4k movie Pan on Z9F. Compared to C8, A9F it seems acceptable. 5hr 56min 38sec is good viewing of the bars found at youtube paused of same video at same title. Thats 352.06 on above videos timer for the paused scene where judges gave the rating score. Just press the red play button. Touch the screen to see timer bar. Believe it or not, this is one of the most reported threads on all of Blu-ray.com.
Please stay on topic. That means posting about the Sony Z9F, its features, compatibility with peripheral devices, performance, "how to", how it compares to other similar models, price, value, future, etc. It is especially appreciated if you actually own the television and can share with others. If you want to continuously post about different models of TVs unrelated to the Z9F or speculate about different TVs, then please go to the appropriate thread or start a new one if it doesn't exist. Everyone appreciates helpful information and enjoys discussion on equipment, but please don't let your enthusiasm get carried away to the point you spam the thread with lots of off-topic information that isn't useful to other members here. I am not trying to squash anyone's participation and enthusiasm in this thread, just asking that some of you please post appropriately with consideration for other members who are here to discuss this particular television. Thanks everyone for being here and for helping to make Blu-ray.com a pleasant and fun place to learn from each other when it comes to our favorite gear. There’s a new firmware update out for the television. It might be a placebo effect after having lived with the television for a while, but I feel like I can actually deal with the ‘high’ setting for local dimming now. The ‘cool down’ time for zones dimming or turning off on high seemed to lag to a noticeable degree before, at least to me. Now, I feel like the timing on that has tightened substantially. I’ve changed all local dimming settings to high, and will live with it a while to see if that issue jumps out at me anymore.
I’ve read another owner elsewhere state they thought the latest firmware made the light bleed issue better but I believe THAT is genuine placebo. They may just be watching content which doesn’t cause the major flash lighting issue to rear an ugly head… but it still does. Also, I’m fairly certain that part of the reason why the light bleeds as much as it does is because of the optical layer over the panel causing the light to scatter. Again, it’s a small concession considering pretty much everything else about this television is fine. I’ve now basically spent two full weeks putting this thing through its paces and I really don’t have any complaints at this point. I’ve watched movies and played games and even streamed some television and tested Dolby Vision through the VUDU app and all seems well enough to me. For the record, black looks black on my Dolby Vision streams. Whether they’d appear that way while playing disc content could be another story, but I do not currently have a Dolby Vision capable player. Anyway, here’s some pictures of it. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

The photo with the Sky Diver is that from a smartphone? Did you make any camera settings changes? Change exposure, brightness etc. Or was it Just Point and Shoot. I gather thats from Netllix. What movie or program. Really Nice TV AV stand you have. Last edited by E6AtmosVuduDV; 10-10-2018 at 02:34 PM. Reason: Finishing |
