Note to Mo Salah and his agent, if the injury appears to eventually need surgery (after which an MRI will tell the tale rather than conventional x-rays), I recommend the Dr. who operated on both of my shoulders (R and L) for serious mountain bike injuries…. https://www.scoi.com/doctors/stephen-j-snyder-md

There really is no better arthroscopic shoulder surgeon in the world.

Bale certainly proved a point last night with two sensational goals. Karius was very unlucky.

Note to Egyptian World Cup fans: even if that be the case, not to worry too much as I’ll remind you that Manny Pacquiao fought Floyd Mayweather with a rotator cuff tear of the shoulder in a sport that greatly hinges on upper extremity power and prowess. So, don't get too down in the dumps.

Sure, it's not my first rodeo either: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...s#post13678983 (and I felt exactly the same way about this match as that one, Liverpool needed to make their early inroads count for something and if they didn't then Real were always likely to punish them). I'm not a great fan of Spanish football admittedly but I've seen enough to want people like Ramos and Busquets shot at dawn and buried in unmarked graves. Such unalloyed cynicism in the modern game breaks my heart...and yet it must be said that certain teams and countries just KNOW how to close out football matches and until British teams can reach that level of footballing nous then they will keep falling short on the european and world stages.

Call it cheating, call it the dark arts, it's what helps these teams win these trophies year after year. Yes, you do of course get the beauty (dat Bale goal, oh mai) but you also get the beast (Ramos literally rugby-tackling Salah to the ground) and it's a complete package. Scoring all them pretty goals is one thing, protecting those goals is something else. I was saying this to a friend when watching the game last night and I read the exact same thing on Lawro's BBC page today, we don't want to see our boys "cheating" but they have got to be cuter on big nights like this.

Pacquiao looked a shadow of his former self and was deservedly beaten though....

You make your own luck in football. If the first one was a careless lapse in concentration from Karius, the second was nothing but an absolute howler. Would he have made the second mistake if he hadn't made the first? Maybe, maybe not, but he had a proper Elm Street of a performance nonetheless. A night to forget for Liverpool.

He did make his point to Zidane but he needs to be playing more first team football and i won't be surprised if he leaves Madrid during the summer.

The guy was even seen smiling when he was talking to someone - it may have been for another reason, but we'll never know. It makes you wonder though.

Cheating may not be the right thing to do, but what the heck, if the opponents do it all the time then perhaps it's time British teams learnt to do the same.

Ramos is a very good, but dirty player. Watch the yellow card he got Mane. He's a master of the dark football arts. I won't go as far as saying he meant to hurt Salah, but will glad he did, because Liverpool started to fall apart after he left the field.

Feel bad for Karius. Incedible goal by Bale. And his comments after the game were interesting. I would love to see him at United.

Doping was quite common in the pro peloton during the days of Lance Armstrong. In fact some say that every real GC contender was doing it. The root problem is with the governing system that allows/enables such conduct.

That can be misleading CV19 Ramos is talking to the linesman and like you said it could be for something else but i knew the media would be quick to jump on it.

Happy with the appointment Penton thanks for asking he be something different to Wenger where he be more stricter, Tactical and he improve the team throughout and i believe we be a lot better prepared next season when we go to the likes of Man.United, Chelsea, Liverpool and so on.

Well you're like me, I think a change was necessary long ago, but what I was getting at was do you know of his past history, i.e. accomplishments, failures, style of play, etc. for I know nothing of him except I think he was PSG's former coach and I don't watch the French league.

Yes, a fair point. If they think they can get away with such behaviour, it won't stop.

True, I doubt we'll ever know what was happening there at that moment. However, I don't think Ramos' track record will do him any favours with the media.

Has anyone here seen the matches in other leagues in which he's coached? I'm trying to get a handle as to his coaching philosophy.

Mo’s probably home by now, so any news from across the pond as to I’d suspect a local MRI scan of his left shoulder for a definite diagnosis?

It’s too early for updates I think. It’s either collerbone or shoulder, either one will probably rule him out of World Cup.
