Nice one Steedy! As you so rightly said, the pressure was off and they took the points. Fantastic! Now all we need is vortex's Scouse lads to beat Swansea in the late kickoff and Palace are safe, barring mathematical acrobatics in the last two games.

It'd still be nice to beat Hull at home next week...but this is Palace.

Bah, that was like watching Palace. Lots of huff and puff but no end result from Everton, that was maddening. So, Swansea are breathing down our necks BUT it's all on the Hull game: with them losing today they can't afford anything less than a win at our place, if they draw or lose then they can't catch us with one game left, and Boro and Sunderland are gone, so for Palace it doesn't matter what Swansea do from here on out. Palace may end up finishing 17th at this rate but I'll take that. We gotta get this season put behind us and move on.

Palace has gotten several wins against my wishes, here is hoping they get one next game against Hull when I am wishing for it.

Pfft, you've done the double over us this season (5-4 ring any bells? ) so don't talk to me about wishes. Since losing Sakho we've lost three on the bounce and that's really not a coincidence (although he couldn't play against his parent club and we still beat them ), we've lost our other two main CBs too (Tomkins and Dann) so Fat Sam experimented with a back three against Citeh and it resulted in our equal-heaviest EPL defeat ever. Hmmm.

But yeah, we want a result from the Hull game as well but this is Palace, so don't count on anything mate!!! It's an away day for Hull so the pressure's off them, and they'll have seen how Burnley defeated Palace: give them the ball, because they simply don't know what to do with lots of possession, it scrambles their brains. Palace's four biggest shares of the possession this season have all resulted in defeats and Hull would be daft to ignore that. First goal will be crucial, I feel. Palace get it and the weight will be lifted, Hull get it and Palace will push the panic button.

Geoff, already discussed your game but it's a full house for the gang this week. We are all down in the dumps football wise.

With how Sunderland have been this season, I took the above comments as frustration and anger towards the club and Moyes. That loss against Leicester was frustrating as we've been in limbo for a few weeks now. We've been in 8th place since last Christmas or the start of this year I think. With Leicester breathing down our necks, I think we will finish 9th or 10th at the end of the season. I wasn't happy with what Leicester did to Ranieri and I'm still not happy with his sacking, and how the results strangely turned around from Shakespeare's first game in charge onwards.

Well at least we got a point and Rondon scored his first goal in something like 20 games. It's Chelsea next (on Friday night). Southampton are playing their game in hand on us either sometime this week before next weekend, or sometime during next week. I'm not thinking that West Brom are entitled to 8th place at the end of the season, but it would be annoying if we did lose it to Leicester, Southampton, Watford, Bournemouth or West Ham at the end of the season.

I usually have the weekend off here, but after the Bank Holiday weekend I decided to have a couple more days off (on the Friday of the Bank Holiday weekend I was fed up with the Arrow-bashing in the Arrow Video UK thread. It was the usual suspects doing the Arrow-bashing), which led to the rest of last week and this past weekend off here.

I don't know why i'm posting this, but my dad supports Liverpool, so i get exposure to the sport very often.

I cannot believe that we are in the year 2017 and football games still end 0-0. I'm just dumbfounded by that.

American sports have got it right. Play it out until there is a winner.

Anyhoo, Boro have finally been relegated to the second tier (another concept completely alien to our sports-loving it's-all-about-winning American cousins) along with Sunderland, and with Hull also looking primed for the drop this is shaping up to be a fair old thwack in the nether regions of North Eastern football. Sure, Newcastle are coming up (glad they pipped Brighton to the title, hahahhhahhhhAAAAA!) but that will hardly be of consolation to the aforementioned teams.

It's a nightmare. It's basically Brighton promoted and Palace relegated. Imagine how that would feel for you and you have a good idea how it feels for me! . We bloody hate Newcastle. However, we still beat them 6 times on the bounce. We have that over them.
