The location is one of the Sony stores that closed now taken over by Video & Audio center (http://www.videoandaudiocenter.com/ ), so, yes, same location. I should have said on Santa Monica Boulevard (in Century City) to be clear.

For folks with little animal patience, you can skip to the 2min. mark in order to get to the meat of the matter; being, imho, if you can dribble thru this defense, then dribbling thru any World Cup national teams’ defense for the Dutch should elicit no fear at all.

But, with the Tour de France approaching July 5, it’s a nice reminder as a tune-up read for bicycling enthusiasts. British membership should note that Le Tour is scheduled to start from Leeds this year with the first 3 stages in England, so gets out of your houses and watch/cheer the best road riders in the world…..and arguably the toughest sporting endurance event there is.

b.t.w., a friend of mine recently attended several stages of the Tour de California and said that Thor H. is looking the best he has in years.

You would have to find a project which was shot with a high resolution digital camera (F55, Red Epic, etc.) that had very little, or no, vfx. So, good luck with that. I guess if you’re not that precise and you consider ‘K’ finishing like horseshoe throwing, then Elysium had its vfx rendered out at 3.3K resolution....

Problem is, it’s still very expensive to render out vfx at 4K so as an alternate solution, what’s being done (manually) by quality conscious productions is to use various tools to sharpen up the 2K vfx in the upscale so that the imagery appears seamless to the native 4K. For the vfx upscale, Michael C. of Light Iron - http://www.lightiron.com/ (whose post facility did the work on Fincher's The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) has recently been touting to industry insiders an adaptive motion blur (AMB) methodology which, in a nutshell, is adjusting the resolution based upon how much blur is in the scene.

But, it’s not like Hollywood studios technically couldn’t produce a complete 4K feature length motion picture containing a substantial amount of vfx and deliver/exhibit it in DCI compliant 4K 2D.

Yes, I most certainly did !

In fact, my family’s Saturday afternoon revolved around watching the match (live). And I agree the best team did win but I would have liked to have seen Costa been able to play though, as he is/was so much of Atletico’s offense. Something I don’t understand (from viewing our U.S. feed) is what? exactly did Varane do to prompt that outburst at the end of the match by Simeone? On the other hand, I was not that surprised by Ronaldo’s narcissistic celebration after scoring the PK even though di Maria was (to me) man of the match for their team.

Anyway, I think we’ve all learned like with other things, just because it’s “official” doesn’t mean it’s accurate or the best.

To me, this year’s “official” World Cup song by the Pitbull, J Lo and Leitte is lame compared to Shakira’s ‘La La La’, which has now surpassed 36.5 million in 5 days while Pitbull et al.’s ‘Ole Ola’ is currently at about 37.3 million after 11 days and all that “official” backing, production investment and cross media marketing.

The suits should have gone with Kira from the get-go for Fifa World Cup Brazil 2014 after what she proved with Waka Waka. Peter, see the Last Days of Celluloid thread for a screening tonight in case you're interested in that sort of thing.
