Well, as I said, I'm not looking for competition with you, in either the love or hate camps, but it is what it is. I speak my mind and there will always be people who get on my wick and vice versa. I've had several PMs from other folks over the years as a result of some swaggering douchebag who thinks he knows everything cluttering up lots of threads - I guess I'm just another arrogant internet know-it-all to add to that number.

Still, as Oscar Wilde said: "The only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about".

^ Coming to a theater near you in 4K HDR. (jibe joke)

On a more serious note, someone who has been described as the most brilliant and knowledgeable federal criminal lawyer in America, by those in the know, has just been hired by the Special counsel Robert Mueller…..http://www.nationallawjournal.com/id...20170511025645

Buckle up Donald . You’ve got more important things to think about than rumors about cavorting with Russian hookers being potentially used as blackmail…..how’s 'obstruction of justice' sound?

Nice chart Dan . After our morning ride, I’ll try to post, as an illustrative visual aid, a colorful flow pathway for live PQ HDR workflow -> live transmission with 2094-10 <- Dolby's app.

Later.

It’s now time for me to suit up as….https://vimeo.com/219454201#t=3m , albeit currently in SoCal, and it’s drizzling outside , which means rooster tails

It is actually true though ray, depending on who you talk to I'm either a complete "tool" or someone who knows their stuff. It's kind of a binary thing, folks either love me or hate me

Sony rolled out the HLG upgrade with the recent Android 7.0 Nougat firmware update.

Has anyone watched any HLG Youtube content on any of Sony's X1 Extreme processor equipped TV?

I posted this in another thread a while ago, but here it is again for those who are interested: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...9Ih8qQwMgaiOFQ

^ Several HLG videos there.

My Samsung has had support for HLG for a while, and those videos look pretty good.

I love the reaction of that lady when looking at the billboard with regards to the newest model phone and the guy choking on his cup of coffee.

Anyway, it’s a toughie, but zmarty poses a legitimately advanced question, be it for those with vested interest or not. It was actually one of questions posed in Super session to the panel at the last NAB by the longtime former Senior Vice President Technology of Warner Bros. and past President (and first woman President) of SMPTE)……https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0J4-FOoQxIY#t=43m54s.

As a supplemental aside to inquiring minds, from the point of view of the upstream broadcast infrastructure, for numbers freaks, a number not detailed by Madeleine in her reply to Wendy in that 2160/120 fps will be challenging and take longer to arrive is because it needs a data rate of 24Gb/s per signal.

Theoretically, without question…..how much better with regards to the outcome for what you see on your screen at home?..... that depends ultimately upon the source and how the content was graded (basic need or not: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2118avh2vc4#t=1h15m53s and creative intent as to whether or not to leverage it in scenes in the storytelling) and the individual TV you watch it on.
