It's a matter of patience. You can post - and you just asked a question. Just post at your own normal rate and you'll soon escape "newbie hell".

I don't know. To me it looks like it just promotes people posting gibberish to reach a certain "rank".

On a side note besides the amount of posts it should also be affected by the years or days or something because it seems like newbies who have only been here for a few months post gibberish but I do know not all the posts are gibberish but this is more thinking out loud/writing.

That’s a pretty good idea. Reward seniority or loyalty

However the problem arises when someone, and there are probably a bunch, who created an account eleven years ago, and even posted a bunch back in the day, but maybe has been not so productive or busy or even hasn’t been logged in for a while

I've never noticed this, but I'm sure it happens. One pet peeve is when they post three or more posts consecutively instead of editing or addending their one post. Pretty annoying. It's probably to get a higher ranking, which has been stated, gets you nothing. I also agree that some kind of reward system for years/ranking would be nice.

However there was also a huge crash a few years ago and pre-that date memebers had to rejoin so it isn't accurate anyway...

Maybe one reason it gets you nothing or there's too much incentive to post spam.

It's probably not supposed to be easy; if you get told the limits and requirements it makes them easier to circumvent. I believe my company has learned to use the same system of not telling you the *exact* restrictions on certain things so you can't get around the restrictions so easily and have to go by the 'intent' of the law not the 'letter'.
