If new movie raw red camera 6K to downscales 4K with render vfx 4K on UHD UltraHD 4K 2160p. It's better look image 4K.

Than 4K red camera movie to downscales 2K with render vfx 2k upscales to 4K on UltraHD 2160p. Idiot or lazy studio.

LoL hahahha ha

has anyone read or heard if Warner's is encoding the DCP of "Batman vs. Superman" in 4K? (obviously the 3D incarnation will be 2K)

That's new the movie will in 4K match 2160p UHD and downscales to BDs 2K.

Free worry. I wonder vfx render was 2K to upscale to 4K.

Need big picture on computer vfx render 4K.....

Hmm, although not a Sony event per se, I wonder if any company will ever produce a skiing competition in 4K HDR as those venues are quite naturally colorful with what the participants and fans wear, as well as there being great inherent contrast between the white snow and blue skies which is routinely constricted by SDR delivery.

Just wondering.......

Retrospective Note: one of last year’s Super session panels (about motion pictures) at NAB 2015 proved quite fruitful to attend (in my opinion). So, for those who missed it, read the post, learn and view the brightcove video clip
here <which included high level reps from several Hollywood studios as well as from Movielabs (for those unfamiliar with some of the technical work they contribute - http://phenix.int-evry.fr/jct/doc_en...t.php?id=10360 )

Why limit nature human eye is 18fps? A film was 24fps simple.

Best nail to 30fps. Not need 40fps to 60fps are waste! Silly movie 60fps.

1fps to 1,000fps!

Cutting edge work currently involves how to properly implement Dolby Vision trailers on standard DCI compliant D-cinema systems.

One of the items coming up for discussion this Thursday in the organization that DCI relies upon for the nuances of DCPs and such is the naming convention for the above.

I take it you're referring to the goal of creating a single deliverable for that trailer that can be correctly projected in Dolby Vision or DCI... ?

That sounds serious. Consider Fuchs, not the player for Leicester City but - http://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/wilme...s/fuchs/about/

If you’re referring to any potential hell redo from the last page, I’m clueless, as I have no involvement with that asset.

Yes, a trailer pack which may include Dolby Vision files and still be played on DV or DCI compliant traditional projector systems would be nice.

I’ve just been informed he did , along of course with Maryline (Orange Labs)…..http://www.dutchguild.nl/02feb16/Dut...4ever-2_V4.pdf

No no, I don't need a doctor. I'm joke.

Now I'm fine on my eyes are perfect. Cause The Sun is highest light to people can blind.

But a film is not real sun is a low light on HDTV. You want real then use HDR!

Well I'm glad to hear that for you had me worried as I thought at first you woke up with cloudy vision and it improved over the course of the day. As to 'real' and HDR, I think that is semantically overemphasized for the purpose of *debate* on forums.

One can have a conservative HDR grade, i.e. not make the imagery look too 'real', just more immersive to the audience viewing. Perhaps the best HDR for motion pictures may turn out to be that which you don't even realize it was graded as such unless you were to perform a side-by-side comparison with the SDR version.
