Looks like a nice set of extras. I hope there is a play all option for the longer extras that make up a whole making of doc.

I have a feeling that some of the extra scenes may end up in an extended cut at some point. However, I think a lot of them will remain as deleted scenes. Especially, the Fifield attack scene (which when placed before the Weyland scene rather nicely helped to explain why no one on the ship was concerned about Shaw/Cuddles post-operation). I also think that all of the Engineer scenes were cut due to Scott's earlier comment that the fight scene somehow diminished the Engineer...perhaps it's better that they don't talk either.

Just as with Alien, I'm perfectly happy with the theatrical cut of Prometheus. It just flows so well, IMO.

At least we getting all of the deleted footage, the leaked specs only said 15 mins of deleted scenes. If they are releasing all of the footage but not putting it into the movie then I doubt there will be a double dip. The extras list is amazing though.

I do suspect however the 3D version will contain the bonus disc and not standard releases.
Dont matter as I got 3D steelbook on order!

There won't be an extended cut ever unless FOX decides they want more money from fans and make their own extended cut for release when the sequel comes out.
You can almost bank on there being some extended/director's cut around the release of Paradise.

Now it looks like there is no (imho necessary) extended version I think I'll cancel my pre-order and just wait for it to hit $10 or just pick up a used copy.

This is WAY below Indy, Jaws, Avengers and several other movies on my wish list so no great shakes.

I am indeed disappointed by the lack of a longer cut (as it appears), but I'm not so sure the movie needs it that badly. I need to see the deleted material before I can make a call on whether or not that material should have been added to the film. If Ridley of all people feels that the theatrical cut is his final cut, then so be it.

I honestly feel like my desire for an extended version comes more from the fact that I felt I'd already seen most of the movie through trailers, featurettes, tv spots, etc. before I even set foot in the theater, and I want there to be more that I didn't have spoiled. This marketing campaign really was horrible in many ways - they showed way too much, and they made the movie look like it was going to have more of an 'Alien' vibe than it actually did (the trailer makes it look like one of the scariest films ever made). From here on out, it's going to be teaser trailers only for me. The teaser for this one was perfect - it barely showed anything. I'd have given anything to go into this movie without having known so much beforehand.

Regardless, I loved this movie - and the Blu-ray is looking like it's going to be one of the absolute best (maybe the best) packages of the year.

I definitely agree with this. I'm looking forward to seeing anything added to it, but I'm not exactly expecting any of it to improve the film for me. If it does, great.. but it's just as likely for me to find no use in it.

Hmm, the plot thickens. When I search 'Prometheus' on the BBFC website, I get the list of ratings for the BD features. However, I noticed two separate items listed as "alternate and deleted scenes". One of them is "Prometheus - Alternate and Deleted Scenes (x14) Runtime: 34m 54s" - which appears to be the one we already know about. However there is another item a little further below listed as "Prometheus - Alternate and Deleted Scenes (x6) Runtime: 10m 4s".

I'd love to click on that one and see if it gives more detail - however, the website is giving me a page error when I click on any of the items. I'll look again tomorrow to see if that changes. But could this be a second batch of extended/deleted material that's getting put back into the movie? We shall have to wait and see.

Hurry up with that announcement, Fox!

Yup BBFC made changes years ago that meant ALL content on a home video release must be classified.

It might be a mistake though as why would there be two sections of deleted scenes? Also if there is truly a extended cut then it would have been classified along with the main theatrical cut by now.

I think the 10mins of deleted scenes listing was for the DVD. The titles for the 10mins version were contained in the 14 listed elsewhere.

Some of these 5+ minuted deleted scenes are catching my eye. I'd also like to see that Engineer opening sequence detailed a tad more. Can't wait, day one!

Amazon currently lists October 11th as the release date:

http://www.amazon.com/Prometheus-Blu...dp/B0085Z8F4A/

I personally don't think it's accurate though. For one, it's only listed on the 3D version and secondly, because it's a Thursday. I could be wrong though.

I predict that there will be scenes put back in...
How do i know this...

The BBFC has 2 separate listings for deleted scenes the one that has
10min these scenes are:
Tis the season
Skin
Were Not Alone Anymore
Strange Bedfellows
David's Objective
A king Has his Reign

Now i would bet that those are separate deleted scenes the one that will be on the menu...

Now the other listing for scenes is @22min
Arrival Of The Engineers
Our First Alien
Hollaway HungOver
Janek Fills Vickers In
Fifield Attacks
The Engineer Speaks
Final Battle
Paradise

These deleted scenes will probably end up back in the movie...and why do i think this? simple...Arrival of the engineers and Paradise are both extended opening and ending scenes...and if i remember correctly the extended opening scene was already confirmed to be put back in....And the ending will most likely be put back in as well that is the reason why there are 2 separate lists of scenes, and i remember Scott saying that there will be 20 extra minutes put back in to the movie...at least that is IMHO...

I think the first deleted scene listed is the alternate opening that was filmed that explained the first scene more. It was cut for pacing reasons.
