there's too many DVDs to add to my collection. I used DVDpedia on my Mac to track my movies that I own. I only added my blu-ray's on here cause I had free time. There's no way I would do it for 700 DVD's.

and yes, I'll be getting the steelbook for Snow White

I know. It's a pain. I have way more DVDs than I have put on here.

I'm perhaps not quite as high on Prometheus as you, but I'm definitely much higher on it than everyone else I know.

I came out of the theater thinking, pondering, and was thoroughly entertained as well. Definitely one of my favorites of the year, along with the likes of Moonrise Kingdom, The Dark Knight Rises, The Avengers, and 21 Jump Street.

Though, out of all of those, I'm most looking forward to another viewing of Prometheus. Day 1 for me.

I saw it three times in the theater in 3D too! Two times on opening-day. As a huge Alien fan, I understood ahead of time what Ridley Scott was trying to do, so I kept my mind open and did not expect another Alien flick. That is why I enjoyed it so much more than many others because I knew what I was getting myself into. It was a briliantly directed movie and the visuals were outstanding. Prometheus had meaning and symbolism and was so much deeper than any other Alien movie. On the surface, Prometheus seems very simple, however you need to use your mind a little. It is not just a sci-fi Alien flick with violence, there is more to it.

I thought it was a great movie and I cannot wait to watch it at home in 3D and see what Prometheus 2 has to offer in the upcoming years.

7 times here.

Gonna see it again at the $1 theater next week to help curb the wait for the Blu-ray.

Only saw this once and loved every bit of it. We had heard rumors there would be a sequel all along. A lot of people were angry that it left so many questions unanswered. Hopefully the blu ray deleted scenes and upcoming sequel will help reduce some of the hate this film received.

i really loved this movie. im ready for a sequel right now. people talk about how the movie was good but flawed. well i disagree. this was hands down one of the best sci-fi movies of the last ten years. im no ridley fanboy i think gladiator is lame and i still havent quite figured out blade runner but prometheus hit all the right marks for me. its the first movie i saw twice in the theater since LotRs the return of the king.

Besides it being the date shown to us in the film...why that was chosen isn't really known...but I think someone pointed out that the date is 10-11-12.... which I guess is cooler and easier to remember than 10-09-12... (That sounds really pathetic, doesn't it? But that's the only thing I can come up with).

Edit: Strictly Blu beat me to it

It is first and foremost the date of incorporation of Weyland:

Weyland Corporation is recognized as a legal entity and corporation under United States law and receives their Certificate of Incorporation from the Companies House in the United Kingdom. Due to the combined value of Sir Peter Weyland’s various patents and patent-pendings, the company incorporates with a higher fair market valuation than any other company in history.

Which I am going to.

Wonder if they would have any Prometheus exclusives there. Probably not, but I'm still gonna pick up the Collector's Edition while in NYC.

I found this film to be incredibly derivative and unoriginal.

I'm giving it another chance as a rental upon release.
