Day one for me!!!!! The Alien franchise IMHO is hands down the best. Hell, it was the reason I purchased a Blu-ray player, so I could buy the Anthology. Anyway, I already got the money stashed away in my shoe box LMAO.

In all fairness, that wasn't really a trollish comment. He just has a negative opinion about the movie.

He even said he was going to give it another chance.

I just don't understand why people bash movies in threads. They're art, it's subjective to each individuals tastes. I don't go into threads and bash other people's movies. It's borderline trolling in my opinion.

I just saw that there is going to be another steelbook (the other is the play.com exclusive), but for sweden (it just went into preorder today) and the link provided to buy it is from cdon.se has anyone ever ordered anything from there and/or know if they ship to the states? I would have preferred to get it from play.com but they do not ship to the states

well, it is subjective like you said. So people are allowed to like it or hate it. It's their opinion. And for people who didn't watch yet, having many different opinions help. Any thread would be boring if we have just one side of opinion.

I also didn't really think he was trolling. I think it is considered "trolling" when one side doesn't respect other person's opinion. He could even say that movie is garbage if he wanted to - just give reason for his opinion and don't say bad about other person for having different opinion. Just respect other people's opinion.

For me, I think this was one of the best movie of the year, and I will definitely be buying it. Can't wait

I just wished the threads remained about the technical aspects of the discs, (transfer, special features,) etc.. rather than which movie a poster thought sucked or didn't suck. There are plenty of review sites out there for movies if someone is unsure of making a blind buy. I just don't have the urge to be negative towards someone else's personal choice in movies or music.
There are many movies on this site I loathe but I don't go into their threads and say this movie sucked, this is why, deal with it!! It just seems trivial & childish to me. I guess I was raised differently than some people.

I agree. There's a lot about the film I didn't like, but I'm looking forward to buying it and seeing it again.... no problem in having mixed opinions here..

If you go to Amazon (not exactly the most accurate reviews sometimes), this movie has the most five stars, followed by one stars. Basically, most people loved it or hated it..

I think most people write a review right after seeing it in the theaters, which is good and bad. Many people jump to conclusions and if they hated it as they walked out of the theater, they will write a negative review. However if they let the movie simmer a little, they may like it more. Hopefully people will eventually give it a second chance and update their review.

I loved it and went to see it in theaters a couple more times!

I tend to tell people that everyone is entitled to love or hate a movie (that's the perk of free will and separate brains), but no one is entitled to hate the person because they love or hate a movie.

I'm getting this one Day 1 because I want to sit in my room and really watch it to see if I'll like it more. I had problems with most the characters, but I'm still going to get it....besides it's always great seeing Charlize Theron or Idris Elba on screen.

Yes, of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion, however I know I have hated movies right out of the theater but after a few moments of though I ended up revisiting the movie and really enjoying it. I think us as humans are too quick to judge.

Even if I really don't enjoy a movie, I always sit through until the end and I may even watch it again to try and get a different opinion about my initial feelings.

Also I think movie trailers and advertisements are to blame as they usually market it incorrectly.

I still can't stop thinking about this. Good or bad plot and/or loopholes, it did it's job by making the audience think. Very few movies have done that for me recently. I think it makes it even better considering a sequel is on the way.

Yes, same there. There is one part of the movie that...
[Show spoiler]my friend and I cannot stop talking and thinking about. If you've seen it you know, it just was so above and beyond and really stood out in this movie and really, any movie.

Either way, I cannot wait to own this and watch it in 3D again.

It's funny, I didn't like it when I walked out of the theater, but upon further reflection, I dislike it even more. The plot holes, weak characters, and script deficiencies become even MORE apparent upon further reflection. Oh well, just another in the long line of disappointing summer films.

I liked it better than The Dark Knight Rises, can we agree on that?

To each their own, I love the sci-fi/horror genre and I thought Scott did an amazing job with Prometheus. It was very different and original and yes, even with the plot holes and questionably written characters, I still loved it.

Both Prometheus and Dark Knight Rises were fantastic films. People need to stop taking this online nitpickery seriously. I'm convinced certain elements at certain websites decided to trash these movies before they even came out just due to their hype. I don't really understand how Avengers, a film that is 100 times dumber than the DKR, escaped this kind of stupidity. It's because it's not on the level.

Prometheus rocked. It still boggles my mind that some haters can't comprehend it's the actual first movie in a new trilogy which connects to Alien. People were expecting way too many answers in this film which was stupid to begin with.

Love this so much. I hope the collector's edition comes with a slipcover. The cover art is really beautiful.
