BTW, I'm still pissed that not all of the cues are on the soundtrack release. The Alien franchise has a really bad track record as far as getting everything on one CD is concerned.

Most likely first day for me. If I can find a normal version. One disc no digicopy and DVD stuff. Too expensive as of right now. I do love the movie thou.

Speaking of the score...I loved when they brought Goldsmith's theme into the flashback recording of old Weyland during Prometheus. I had a total geeky girl moment and no one else around me understood why,

Yes, I loved the score for the film and wouldn't mind some kind of expanded release in the future (though I assume it would be a long time off, since we're just now getting expanded releases of some '90s scores).

While they were kind enough to include two cues by Harry Gregson-Williams, the bulk of the CD has the score by Marc Streitenfeld. That stuff is actually nice to hear since some of his cues ("Earth" for example) were rescored in the film with HGW's material, but I'd have loved to have the latter material on the CD as well. It would be nice to have the classical pieces included also.

Its being released in early October in Europe so doubt the US will be much behind, probably the week after.

It is a movie I wanted to love. I just hope the sequel makes it feel like a complete movie even if spread out on two discs. As a stand alone it feels shallow and unfinished. I love the atmosphere and vibe of the movie, just needs more actual content, more story, more character.

The U.S. release date is 10 11 12 Oct 11, 2012. Look under the pre-order button on Fox Connect.

maybe, probably not as good as something like Battleship though (for the pure reason of showing off your home theatre)

Now the last week i've been listening to the soundtrack(which has grown on me quite a bit) and the movie has suddenly become one of my top most-wanted releases of 2012 Didn't even need a second viewing Been basically playing back a lot of the movie in my head and its really grown on me since the theatrical release.
Sounds like this might be another Blade Runner!

I cant wait to see it again myself.

Prometheus is the best sci-fi/"horror" since Event Horizon.

The score was great too bad the script blew...

I completely agree with you. The sci-fi horror genre is my favorite. I think Event Horizon was greatly over-looked and missed by many. It is a classic to me, one of my guilty little pleasures and I watch it a few times a year… then I play Dead Space on my PS3.

Prometheus was very original in the idea behind the action and violence, as it seems as though that is all that most people got out of it. It was brilliantly directed and I am still remembering the visuals.

I cannot wait to see it at home on Blu-ray!

Just what was the point of this comment, really? You could have made your opinion of the script known without trolling my positive comments.

I'm getting anxious. Release the details already!

Not sure why people like to troll movies. Not everyone will like a movie, but people that say "the script blew" have no merit. At least be reasonable in what you're saying. I wasn't crazy about the Hunger Games but I tried to find logical reasons I didn't AND things I did like.

Does Sunshine count as a sci-fi horror? It probably does even though the horror bit was definitely ill advised! Spoilt what could have been a very good film.

Event Horizon is no classic but its certainly a blast. I always thought it could have done with being an hour longer myself - just too short!

Prometheus blew me away and I cant decide between that and The Dark Knight Rises for film of the year.

I heard there was an extended cut of Event Horizon somewhere. Apparently they had to recut the movie multiple times to get the ratings right.

Yes, Sunshine was awesome as well!

The Dark Knight Rises was very good, however so far this year Prometheus has been my favorite film.
