Looks like BBY next upgrade and save will overlap with the release of this. It's not confirmed but the date from the previous years line up.

$5 off and I should have a $5 rewards zone coupon...perhaps I will grab the 3D after all.

Default Possible Interview with Charles De Lauzirika

Hi all,

This is Casey Broadwater, blu-ray.com writer/reviewer, and I just got word that we may have an upcoming interview opportunity with Blu-ray producer and behind-the-scenes documentary mastermind Charles De Lauzirika—I'll know more in the next few days—concerning his work on the Prometheus special features.

I just wanted to drop in and see if anyone in the forums had any burning questions to ask him. Fire away, and time permitting, we may be able to get to a few of them. Thanks!!

That's awesome!

Can you please ask him about the possibility of an open matte 16:9 version of Prometheus in the future and why it isn't in the current edition? It really helps the 3D.

I don't think it's ever going to happen, man.

If there was ever a filmmaker who shouldn't have his camera framing messed with - it's Ridley Scott. The man is a master of visuals, and I'm glad that his 2.39:1 ratio is being maintained for all versions. When I saw the film in 3D, that's how it was presented - and I look forward to that presentation when I eventually get a 3D tv down the road.

Maybe it will go for $24.99 for the 3d set, if that happens, consider that a gift...

Thta would be great!

I must confess I am more interested in the BD edition special features and Lauzirika's work on it than in the movie itself.

The cover and disc art on this are glorious, and that list of features is stupendous! Reminds me a bit of Avatar, actually. And it looks as though the Digital Copy is UV and iTunes, no?

Either way, it's safe to say I'll be canceling my 2D pre-order and sticking with the 3D one.

Now to figure out Best Buy's day one price and see if it officially aligns with the U&S sale. Looks like it'll be Best Buy vs. Amazon on this one!

OK, watching the deleted scenes in reverse!

Will keep these as spoilers ...

[Show spoiler]David revelation about the engineers obviously leaving to go to earth prior to the infection comes first... Shaw asks about the cargo and why they were bringing it to us...it's clear that they want to kill us.

The waking of the engineer is very revealing - and Weylands arrogance (and comments appears to be part of the undoing of them all. Although the engineer doesn't wait for a translation he appears to comprehend Weyland...)

"you see this man? My company built him from nothing. I made him, and I made him in my own image so that he would be perfect, so that he would never fail. Pointing at him he says "I DESERVE THIS...Because you and I, we are superior. We are creators. We are Gods. And Gods NEVER die"

Whoops. He examines the creation as David smiles for a second...you know the rest!

Like the post after yours says, I also think $24.99 might happen.

Yes, according to that packaging it has both types of digital copy.

Based on this link, http://www.target.com/c/movies/-/N-5...av_t_spc_1_3_0

I see no indication there is a Target exclusive for this title...or am I wrong?

Imax had a taller ratio, so it's still OAR like The Dark Knight.

EDIT:

Ratio Poll:

There's a demand for a bigger picture with IMAX because of the nature of the presentation. But if Ridley had wanted a 16x9 presentation, he would have had it displayed at that ratio for every screening.

Remainder of the deleted scenes: http://www.prometheusnews.net/movie/...eleted-scenes/

Terrible, just terrible. Ridley is so smart for cutting this crap out!

can't wait I saw this 3 times in theatres 3d I found it almost hypnotizing. The quality of the work was stunning. When people say there were un answered questions I say and what did Empire do? left you hanging. I do believe there is more story to come and thats what i thought when I first saw it.

The disc label artwork on my discs matches three of the US discs. The artwork on the US DVD is not on my discs, instead there is a picture of the Prometheus on mine.

I don't have the exact UK discs though, as mine are entirely rating logos free like the US ones. So I can't confirm that the UK is getting these labels, but I don't see why not.

There's a difference between cliffhanger and a film not making sense in a lot of spots. Again, this is problably the best looking sci-fi film in decades but the script is an unholy mess.

It feels like a first draft.
