Agree 100% and I've got no problem at all with what they have done or how they have handled it.

That little infographic thing thats been posted says that it can be inhaled, but it was never made aerosol in the film. And what is the difference between the stuff that was flowing from the canisters in the sealed room, and the canister that David took. His had a sealed lid, with the four vials inside it. The others in that room just started reacting to the air and melting.

As for calling the sequel "Paradise", I kind of hope they come up with something better. That was the original title of this film, until they thought better of it. They even cut any utterance of it out of the film (just left in the deleted scenes, which again don't count as most of them are made redundant).

Vickers confronts David after he talks to Weyland. At the time, she didn't know he was on the ship, so she must have thought that he was in communication with Earth. Given all that he can do, it shouldn't be unthinkable that he has something built in to send info back to Earth, given the corporation tons of data to look over. Kind of like a black box.

Why would the Engineers leave directions to that system, if all they do there is test out stuff. Are they just asses, trying to pull off an intergalactic prank?

I took an instant dislike to Holloway, and never felt a bit sorry for him. But I give him credit for not going out like a punk. Janek is the best character in the movie to me. He just fits in with the series.

That's it for now. I'm sure there will be more later.
[Show spoiler] This is where my "Holloway is a Facehugger" theory comes into place. He impregnated Shaw, and if she went full term, she may have been killed by the Trilobyte by it purging itself from her body. The Trilobyte takes on some of the genetic make up of its host, so it poses as no threat to said host until it matures.

[Show spoiler]Wow, great theory! It makes sense, since the...thing she had taken out was a giant facehugger itself. I can't recall now if they showed it at the end when the deacon burst out of the Engineer. Was it lifeless itself, or had it wandered away? Guess I'll just have to watch it all over again now.

This one doesn't bother me as much but alot of people complained about how stupid it was that Vickers and Shaw ran in a straight line when the alien ship was rolling towards them instead of running diagonal or to the side to avoid its path.

Some people thought it was stupid that David kept doing all these questionable things and nobody thought it necessary to say "hey David...just don't touch anything okie dokie?"

I dont particular care whether this stuff is considered stupid or not and I certainly have my own opinions on it...but I love the movie all the same
Well, Milburn is a biologist. It's his job to be interested in that sort of thing. Of course he's going to approach it, he wouldn't just ignore it. but, I did question the running in a straight line. It didn't bother me though, if they had just ran to the side then the scene wouldn't have been that exciting David had his reasons, twas all part of his mission that Weyland gave him.

Plus...

due to the cold shoulder that Fifiled gave Milburn at the beginning, it is very easy to assume that Milburn the biologist is just trying to impress Fifiled and become his friend.

I never had an issue with his behavior. History is filled with people who don't always play it safe.

Yes. That nitpick hasn't been raised much, lately. It should be put to rest by this. Watch from 3:24 on: http://www.youtube.com/watch?list=UU...&v=NdJYlKfyjg8

The one problem with that is that he is an expert with that snake. Milburn knows nada about about that new alien life form.

However like I said, he was just trying to impress his new found friend with his amazing skillz.

One massive issue with using that moron, he's so far from a PhD. in Bio that he's viewed as an absolute joke to those in the field.

Milburn was a complete failure as a biologist but then again, it is a movie so I just try to ignore it along with the dipshit comments on spacial distance.

A theory I heard from a friend....... ( really, it was a friend)
[Show spoiler]if you notice all the debris that was flying from the ship while they were running, it would have killed them anyway if they would have exited stage left. But as I watched, at least one of the ladies split right at the last second and survived. I spent a whole lot of time thinking about this (about 3 seconds) and decided for myself that if I had my druthers, I'd be dodging debris to save my life versus a big ass spaceship rolling over my ass.
Interesting take at least for me ,taking me back to check that scene again. But instead, I watched the entire movie from beginning to end once more.
No matter how questionable some of the characters actions were, it's still a great movie IMO.

The Milburn scene is one that was brought up on numerous occasions and if it wasnt brought up directly I can't help but think that its one of the situations the "questionable/silly decisions" is referring to.

I remember watching a video review for Prometheus, think it was at IGN maybe? But the reviewer, for the most part was positive towards the film, but he mentioned the Milburn scene and said something to the effect of "coooommme oooonnn...the guy actually tried to pet the thing and gets killed in the process"
I finally watched the deleted scenes yesterday and I think the scene that shows the scientist getting very excited about finding the slug-type creature should have been kept in the film to give proper context and reasoning to his later actions. As much as I try to view the attack scene in the film as it is now as a nod to "classic horror" type scenarios (Scott always describes the original Alien as nothing more than a haunted house movie), it is probably the easiest example of lazy writing in the film.

Other than that, I actually felt that the deletion of all of the other scenes shown on the disc was entirely justified. For me, they were extraneous explanations of or expansions on things that I already understood from seeing the standard cut. Scenes like the conversation with the engineer, the close up of the baby Jesus ornament being placed on the Christmas tree, etc, all seemed like Scott TELLING rather than SHOWING, which I find intellectually un-engaging and far too much of a "big budget effects show for mass audiences" approach to directing. Personally, I feel Scott decided to take the high road with the final cut and I do not think a "director's cut" or "extended version" is necessary if these scenes are indeed what was left on the cutting room floor. However, it seems like some people could have benefited from these scenes due to all of the ridiculous questions that are still being asked about what I felt was a very straight-forward, yet still intriguing and thoughtfully constructed, film.

I agree. I LOVE discussing the meat of these films and just because I bring up some of its blemishes doesn't mean I dislike the film. I've been defending it more than anything, earlier when I mentioned the characters doing some silly things in Prometheus and Alien it was because a lot of people that adore Alien but despise Prometheus because of it, IMO, fail to see the similarities. they just ignore them...at least that's the way I see it.

No film is perfect. The issues I have with Prometheus are like drops in a bucket, fairly insignificant when there's an ocean of seemingly endless possibilities with where this series could go.

One theory I had was that Shaw wasn't infected or pregnant but that the ooze was mutating Halloway's body and she became the host to his mutant sp.erm. And the creature does look like a mutant sp.erm!

Also the pods in the chamber were effected by the atmosphere - he stopped the degradation by freezing it with his oxygen tank and then putting it in the freezer when he got back on board the ship. All the pods in the chamber would contain the vials but the vials degrade when they come in contact with the warmer atmosphere.

Also not including capturing the worms is to remove the plot flaw that it's never followed up on.
