I bought the UK from Prometheus to Alien: The Evolution Boxset as I own neither films on Blu-ray. Really wanted it in 3D after seeing the movie twice (IMAX 3D and standard 2D version at the cinema).

Shame this is most likely to be region locked. I only want the booklet!!

OMFG!

No its confirmed to not be. 3D4Ever has it already and even though it states region A the discs are actually region free as he has a Region B player.

Can someone with an advanced copy help us out?

Did they include the original script on the bluray?

If so, can you post it?

Are the 2D and 3D versions really coming out on different dates? Or is Blu-ray.com hilariously incorrect?

Canceled my preorder of the regular 2D on Amazon. I'll either use the $5 upgrade coupon at Best Buy or go for the Target 3D. Thanks for the heads up guys.

When I was at Wal-Mart today they had an ad near the front of their store for Prometheus and it said it comes out on the 11th. More confusion. Unless they have an old ad from before the date was changed to the 9th.

Hopefully everyone boycotts this release of Prometheus. I am going to wait for the extended cut which will inevitably come. I am not buying into the studios crap of buying the same movie over and over each time a new edition comes out. We all know Ridley Scott will bring out an extended cut. Don't care how long I have to wait as the movie wasn't that good anyway. I am hoping that the extended cut will make more sense of the movie?

Good luck with that, lol. It's most likely going to be one of the biggest selling releases of the year.

Well if you didnt think the movie wasnt that good why on earth are you concerned about an extended cut. I just dont get why everyone is so confused by this movie. Yeah sure it leaves a bit unanswered but if it answered everything there wouldnt be a need for sequel would there?

I really can't understand why people insist that there's definitely going to be an extended cut. We're getting over 30 minutes of deleted and extended scenes on this set. If Ridley wanted to do a longer cut, I guarantee he would have done it on this release. Especially considering how jam packed full of supplements this set is.

I could understand if this was an almost bare bones release. Then, it would be reasonable to talk about an extended/director's cut special edition package. But, we're getting the all out, ultra release NOW. As far as supplements go, this is a release that's on par with the Lord of the Rings Extended Editions, the Alien Anthology, the Blade Runner Collector's Edition, and the Kingdom of Heaven 4 Disc DVD Set. It's going to have commentaries, a 3 1/2 hour documentary, deleted/extended scenes, enhancement pods, viral videos, trailers, tv spots, featurettes, etc.

If Ridley wasn't satisfied with the Theatrical Cut, THIS is the time that he would take to deliver his preferred cut. He's not going to record a commentary track and put out premium quality extras for a version that he doesn't consider his definitive film.

Now, I never put anything past a studio. It's entirely possible that FOX will decide they want to double dip before the sequel comes out - and, so, they may commission an extended edition. But it will not be Ridley's director's cut. We're getting that with this release.

So - boycott a spectacular Blu-ray package of Ridley Scott's approved cut of 'Prometheus'? Not in this lifetime.

Still deciding if I want to get the regular 3D release or the Play.com steel for probably double the price. I loved the movie but I don't know what to do!

I agree. If there were practically no special features on this, then I could see there being a possible extended cut. With so many special features on this I couldn't see them re-releasing it just to add an extended cut.

Boycott? Yea that's going to happen. I want this today but I can wait till the 9th, I have plenty of other films to watch till then. And if there ever is another release down the line that's a "directors cut" then I will happily buy that too. Wouldn't be the first time I bought two versions of a movie I love.
