It's like you didn't even see the film.
Also, the width of the ship was several hundred yards so it's not like, even if they did turn directly left or right and run full speed, they'd be able to outrun it.

Thank you for such an illuminating and solidly argumented defense of the film, expressed in such smart and elegant manner, and properly respectful with those with different opinions than yours.

I am sure you were incredibly convincing and helped that board member a lot.

Oh! Don't forget to turn your brain on...

I'm not using the 3D disc either, but want the extra disc mostly.
+1. Slight change in attitude.

Does anyone know what the offical cover art for the 3D collectors edition is? because the cover art at amazon and walmart is different from the one that is being shown here.

I saw this the other day via Vudu and enjoyed it quite a bit. It has surprising depth considering it was released in the summer.

I want to see the bonus features now.

If you bothered to even look a few pages back you will see that the coverart you see here is the official one. This is confirmed by the pictures on here from people who already have it. Amazon just havent updated their site and who knows what Best buy are doing.

Thumbs up Prometheus Released Today in South Africa!

Hi All

Thought you'd all like to know the Standard Version and 3D Version of Prometheus was released here today. Retail and rental. The basic version I got has the movie, deleted scenes and 2 or 3 extras like a trailer and a short 'making of' featurette.

I'm just surprised we got it so early!!!!

Thanks. This must be one of those "Midnight begins in Fiji and works it way around the world counterclockwise" kind of things where this particular release works it way around the world starting in Fiji. It'll make it's way to New York on or around the 11th of October but right now its making the rounds and has appeared in places like South Africa and Chile first. It's cool

I never buy locally either because of the ratings logos. When they first introduced them I wrote a letter to the ratings Classification Board telling them I would no longer be buying locally and their response was very, ah, bureaucratic.

Yeah, now you know how us Aussies pay so much more for Blu-ray! $39.95 is usual! I've been buying all my Blu-rays from Amazon.co.uk as it's a fraction of the price here! 3D Blu-ray is typically $40+ (Thor is still at $47.95, Transformers DOTM is $57.95).

Yeah, not sure why JB HIFI have the "steelbook" listed as "metalbook." It's not a term that we use or even they use in their own stores. All their steelbooks are called "steelbooks." I think it's just a website error.

So, found a copy of the film to rewatch before next week's release and...this is just an oddly compelling film that's got a crap ton of weird character logic gaps but gets to an interesting and terrifying ending that leaves you wanting to know what they have in store next.

Honestly, I wish this film didn't have any connection to the Alien universe because I just don't think it's needed, considering the beautiful world building Scott's crafted in this film. I'm way more interested in the Engineers than I am in the Xenomorphs.

As has already been said, this film is gorgeous. Absolutely stunning piece of craftsmanship, front to back. Probably the best looking film all year. More than likely, I'll get this on BD next week.

As a casual fan of Alien and Aliens, I do wonder if the sequel to Prometheus will answer the question of LV-426.

Although it has obvious Alien ties, I like to think of it as more of a stand alone story occuring in the Alien universe. If that makes sense lol.

Seeing it a second time, you're right. Honestly, the emergence of the proto-xenomorph is almost an afterthought. It wouldn't shock me one bit that it wouldn't be addressed in the sequel because of how much the story revolves around Shaw's quest for answers from the Engineers.

Scott's 80 years old. How the hell is he going to do two sequels?
