I think it's the exact same as the 3D version you can get at Best Buy, Amazon or anywhere else. It just has the little booklet. I think that may be the only bonus.

Asked this a few pages back but saw no reply. Can anyone who has the US 3D version already, confirm the type of case it comes in. Is it a standard slim case US BD's come in or a thicker version like some 4 disc editions come in(such as the ones disney now sometimes use)?

It's great. It covers so many aspects that went into making the film, it's exhaustive.

I'm betting the scores will be close to perfect. I thought picture/audio quality was pretty much flawless.

It's 2 hours 30 minutes divided into 9 sections. With the play all option that includes the enhancement pods, it runs 3 hours 40 minutes.

I've posted full bonus specs from my discs on page 88 in this thread.

It comes in a standard slim case with a booklet in a side slipcase (don't know if that's the proper way to describe it)

Based on what I've read, I get the feeling the extras are basically a direct continuation of the Alien Anthology. Do they live up to that standard?

Sweetness. Thanks for the info. I don't know why I expected less from a Ridley Scott BD release. His films on home video tend to have the goods.

Actually it's longer. The documentary totals 3 hours 40 minutes over 9 sections. I made a mistake just now and thought the enhancement pods were included in that time, but they aren't (my list on page 88 is correct). So add to that, you can watch an additional 1 hour and 10 minutes of enhancement pods featurettes, totalling 4 hours and 50 minutes. Crazy.

Again, expected nothing less from a Ridley Scott release. His team delivers the goods on BD releases...

Nice, that's what I thought your list said originally. The longer the better.

P.S. As much as I love Joss Whedon and his latest film, I still must say: Eat your heart out, Avengers fans!!!

The extras for Prometheus is even more complete than that for the Alien films, if you evaluate the extras for those on an individual basis.

Is that the target exclusive with a booklet or is the booklet something differnt in the standard release edition.

Also are saying that the slipcase goes from the side rather over the top?

So is it confirmed that the North American 3D release has more extras than the 2D?

I watched the movies a couple of times and here is my quick review:

Picture Quality 4.5/5
The opening sequence is breathtaking..., the flesh tone is natural, all the details and colors of close up view of wrinkles, fabric, hair and everything is great... the outdoor scenes of LV-223 are just awesome, all the valleys, mountains, black clouds, they're fantastic... so far I didn't see any picture manipulated... the scenes that I like the most is opening sequence (Iceland) and the orrery scenes... it's just breathtaking really...

Audio Quality 4.5/5
The score from Mark Streitenfeld really help carry us through this marvelous journey (I just love the score... ), the conversations are clearly spot on from the front, the silica sand storm scene is 360 degree surround field and it's just great (...shame that it's just too short) as I listened to the whole movie, everything is just perfect! (may I repeat again? I just love the score... )

But that was just me
