The Target edition also comes with an Art booklet, fyi.

Here's some pics to help you decide.

Regular Editions from Best Buy:

Oh, I know! I was just confused about the differing artwork because I saw the pictures of the Target version (and art booklet) that were previously posted, then assumed that the online artwork on the Best Buy website was accurate.

I'm still unsure of which version I'll grab on Tuesday, but the fact that they will both at least be the same aesthetically makes the scales tip in Best Buy's favor just a bit.

Out of curiosity, and this may but a dumb question, but which version are you gonna go for?

To be honest the regular 3D edition slip looks a bit better than the Target Slipcase.
I'll be getting that one off Best Buy if they have it cheap if not Amazon it is.

Well, I'm not quite sure to be honest. Price wise, I should go for the Best Buy version. All I have to do is trade in an old DVD and use my Reward Zone coupons, and I can get this for $4.99!

But, on the other hand, I really love the look of that Target slipcover. It just makes the package look more elegant and "collectable", as it were. But I also already have the full "Art of Prometheus" book, so the art booklet isn't much of a selling point for me.

In other words, I'll get back to you next Tuesday...

Love that Target edition. Forgive me if this has been answered multiple times, but is the Target edition cover exclusive? Will BB have the same one or the picture of the engineer? I think this has been the most confusing release ever.

Agreed. Not too keen on that slipcase to be honest... good thing I'm getting the regular 3D edition.

Hmm. Looks like I'll be buying at Target for a change.
In the back of my head, I'll be saving $10, since I got in on Amazon's $10 free movie money to see it in theaters for pre-ordering the 2D edition (which I canceled the other day, since I want that extra disc in the 3D edition). But I'm still hoping they price it lower for release day.

Same design, but Target is a slipbox instead of a slipcover. Also includes an art booklet.

Not if you pre-ordered 60 days ago.. It's terrible, but if I get it damaged, I'll be sending it back, and i'll be sending back again if it keeps coming damaged.. I have exams for the entire week next week, so I won't be able to watch it till friday.

Man, I couldn't agree with you more. As an Alien fan, the trailer definitely got my ass in a seat (and the marketing guys all high-five each other) but that trailer informed me of almost every damn scene in the movie. It is both the best and worst trailer I've ever seen.

I know that's in jest, but I was actually thinking about nabbing a 2D edition just because I love that image of the Engineer so much.

I have problems...

I'm leaning towards Target but I won't be able to swing by until I get off work. Then again, I could get the BB edition for $19,99 with the upgrade and save. Decisions decisions..

Next Tuesday, will wake up, take a dump, eat breakfast, take my buttocks to Target, pick up Prometheus on Blu-ray 3D and the E.T. Steelbook, go to work late.

Another typical Tuesday.

Heheh, we have problems. I want the Target slipcase, but want to get it cheaper at BBY. I'll have to just live with the BBY slipcover though.

thanks snicket, just want to make sure i'm clear and sorry if this has already been explained. one, your statement, do you mean for an advanced purchase of the digital download (like apple offeres)?

is there a steelbook being offered by walmart or any USA store?

if there is a walmart steelbook pre-order, is it this one? it doesn't say steelbook but once you move the cursor over the cover picture shown, it changes and looks like the posted picture of the steelbook.

again, i just read about this today when i posted and want to be sure. thanks for your time; you snicket or anyone who answers.

Any idea when the review will be up for the 3D version? I check every day for it!

Watch the shorter teaser if you must (while it also makes the film look too much like Alien, it at least doesn't spoil anything) - but stay away from this trailer at all costs.
Thanks for the info but....
Well, saw it. Sorry. LOL I really don't care about spoilers that much so not bothered about that sort of thing.

Since I didn't see this film, I'm guessing it's not really and "Alien" type of movie but something different. So, me being a huge fan of the first two Alien movies, would this be worth seeing or would I be disappointed? I saw the 10 minute preview and it looked interesting.

By all means, see it if you're an Alien fan.
