Can anyone that has the Blu-ray confirm this easter egg showing the tie in between prometheus and Blade Runner? http://www.heraldsun.com.au/entertai...-1226490111128

There's more: Update: There's more!
[Show spoiler]Thanks to reader @stephenstaunton there's apparently a "Supplementary Pod" on the Blu-Ray as well that really makes big hints at this cross-universe as well. So it may be real? Check out this screenshot below from one of the featurettes titled "Merging Ridleyverses" - not obvious enough yet? Here's part of a transcript he sent me: "There's one idea that I'm very sad that we didn't do. Ridley, one day, came in and said, "You know, I'm thinking what if it's the Weyland-Tyrell Corporation?

If you like slow paced creepy sci-fi - blind buy

If you want Alien 5- this isn't it

My review- 4.5/5. Loved it!!!!!

I wouldn't worry about lack of lossless audio, only Lionsgate/Summit have been doing that SO FAR. but I'd rent it first. It's gotten polarized reactions. some people love it, All I know is that my friends and I thought it was a pile of pure garbage

I sure hope not. That'd be a disaster.

I can't say that the idea that Alien and Blade Runner are part of the same universe makes much sense to me.

Why do they need to be? Just for the sake of saying so?

Do NOT blind buy this movie. It pretty much gets a love/hate reaction out of most people. Very few have been lukewarm on it. I happend to love it, but you should watch it before you buy.

No. Alien is a haunted house monster movie that is near perfect. Prometheus is dark sci-fi with some logic issues.

I think it's a green light if you are a fan of Sci-Fi Monster flicks.

I disagree. Some of the very people you just described did not like this movie.

I don't get the question if a film is worth a blind buy. I can't fathom how I'm supposed to be familiar with a strangers tastes in film.

I can recommend it, but no promises if you will enjoy it or not. That's the best any of us can do.

So in other words: read reviews, check aggregate score websites (i.e. Rotten Tomatoes, Metacritic, Cinemascore, etc), watch trailers and clips, then base your final opinion on the combination. Because some random person on an internet forum cannot suitably reinforce your commitment, or lack thereof, to purchasing a movie you haven't seen.

I feel the same as you, which is why I almost never blind buy. But some people who like to blind buy sometimes want to get some opinions before they do, which to me is the opposite of blind buying, which is all about the suprise.

I recommend this movie because I liked it, who who doesn't already do that anyway, right?

"The Terminator is an awesome movie!"
"So should I blind buy it?"
"Well of course! I just said it was awesome, right?"

In this case though, to be fair to newbies, given the current reception of the film I do not recommend a blind buy.

Seems to me, with the wealth of video clips, teasers, and other info available, I don't know if you could truly describe a decision to buy a 'blind' buy. As others have said, you can wait until it's available to rent. If you don't want to wait that long, just wait for some reviews from reviewers you trust. We should see them within the next few days.

It's blind buy worthy.

Renting would be a waste of time and money.

If you're a real science fiction fan you will add it to your collection.

Prometheus has no logic issues.

You're just stuck in nostalgia.

also Blade Runner was always canon with Alien

I don't blind buy. If I couldn't be bothered to see something in theaters, I just rent it. Then, if I find myself pleasantly surprised - I buy it at a later date.
