I want the extra features as much as the movie, so I'll have to buy the 4-disc set.

Unfortunately, I don't see 3D as an upgrade from 1080P, but as a sideshow, a transient short-term money-making gimmick. The genuine upgrade from 1080P is 4K.

It annoys me to have to look at that 3D logo on the spine of Prometheus when it ends up on my shelf.

Are you certain its region locked? Wasnt it confirmed by 3DForever that whilst its listed as Region a locked on the back cover that it is in fact region free. Havent seen any other reviews so cant confirm it yet.

Actually found this in the region coding info of the review on this site :

Region coding
Region A (confirmed)
Region B (confirmed)
Region C (confirmed)

This title has been tested by us (MovieTyme) and confirmed to be region free (A,B,C) and therefore will play on any Blu-ray player inc EU PS3s. And HD Movie Source: US Released DISC - Plays in REGION A.B.C. Players Only.. DVD Will only play on US NTSC players. BUT i am not sure this is true or not.....

I second the reviewer's nomination for Fincher if Scott does not direct Paradise. His style would fit this perfectly. Fox, stay the hell out of his way this time!

Excellent review.

Excellent! I'm glad the reviewer gave this film a 4/5. That's fair, I feel. And of course, the 5s across the board for Video, Audio, & Extras were a gimme.

Can't wait until Tuesday morning!

8/10 was my rating for it as well, so I'm glad the reviewer was fair with it too. And a very strong 8 it is!

Thanks just thought it was region locked since its listed on this site as region A locked. Wouldn't make sense either if it was with subtitles for european countries

you might wanna call best buy concerning that new KISS album. their site still shows that extra track(which also appears as an itunes extra), but their weekly ad now reads "exclusive KISS Army membership". anyhow, dropping my son off at school, then heading 50 miles to the nearest best buy to pick up that E.T. digi for him(and me) and Prometheus 3D. watched Prometheus imax3D and I hope it holds up well on my home 3D(might be a gimmick, but it sure is fun). gonna try to avoid buying Monster since I pre-ordered the vinyl. there is also a wal-mart exclusive of Monster that includes a 'zine. sorry for the interruption, now back to yr regularly scheduled Prometheus thread.................

Those screenshots are amazing, and the bonus features on the 4-disc set seem great. The screenplay on this movie was weak, but the amazing visuals and superb acting by Rapace and Fassbender make this worth it. Also watching this and some Soderbergh's latest movies and especially Dragon tattoo. Red digital has got to the point where in the right hands is atleast as good as film. That was not the case, at all 5 years ago.
Glad Broadwater reviewed this, he is one of the good reviewer on this site. Well done.

while this line may ring true .... "So much of a film's reception comes down to the expectations of its audience, and Prometheus was perhaps unfairly saddled with the high hopes of Alien fans, who were looking forward to the be-all-end-all in interstellar terror. "

... it is also true that many of us who went to see it, not immediately after it had opened, went in with very low expectations based on initial feedback and were still disappointed for all the same reasons

sure it looked and sounded great (and I've even been tempted to pick it up based on that alone) but story wise it was a mess

Personally I prefer it to the Alien series.

Once the the two sequels come out, I will be in paradise.
