Any DVD right? Well I've tons of those to get rid of.
As long as it has a cover and case, it's good to go.

The major issue with these boards (and, really, the whole internet honestly) is that people tend to have absolutely no respect for others' opinions. I like this movie a lot, but I'm not going to get on somebody else's case if they thought it was horrible. That's their business, and it doesn't affect my enjoyment of the movie one bit. I'd be out of line to tell them "YOU'RE WRONG", as if I was some complete authority on the matter.

It kind of breaks my heart I have no urge to buy this. I saw it twice and liked it less with the 2nd viewing. It's a shame as the blu-ray sounds like an awesome disc. I just can't get passed the awful, nonsensical script. Why they hired Damon Lindelof for this is baffling.
I have a feeling you will own this, most likely tomorrow.

On my own personal note, I agree there were a lot of holes, and I did leave the theater slightly disappointed. I enjoyed this movie a lot the second time around when I watched it at home. It is so visually stunning, and there are a few scenes that stand out as Epic.

Curious. If I were to take in a DVD today, would they go ahead and give me a $5 coupon to use tomorrow?...or do is it only on the day of release and after?

Just wondering because I plan to go pick this up on my lunch break tomorrow and customer service is dreadfully slow at my local BB. Would be nice to have 50% of my trip done already.

You can't judge anybody, by the type of movies they buy. People have different taste! The whole world is diverse, and everybody wasn't born to be the same.

How do you know that I've bought Avatar for myself? I could've purchased it for my wife and family. Either way, that's none of your concern!

Well after the review I definitely plan on blind buying this. I'll be picking this up at the Union Square BBY tomorrow with my U&S in tow.

I was really happy to hear how well the 3D is implemented in the blu-ray and that it is very close to what we saw in theaters. Just got an LED 3DTV a week ago, and so far have been impressed with some of the 3D transfers, but I think that Prometheus will really blow me away. Sadly, I have to first get the movie in the mail (did that Wal*Mart pre-order thing), and then go return it to Wal*Mart for the 3D version...I hate going in that place any more than I have to, but it'll be worth it for this movie.

Yes, the coupon is good for anytime that the U&S is active. After that promotion time, the coupon is no good.

Can you take that movie and "swap" after you bought it online? They might even so much as have you mail it back....just an FYI....

I'm very happy I waited to get the 3D blu-ray rather than get it two weeks in advance in the PS Store....I was waiting to see what extras the blu-ray has, and my patience has paid off....now it's a matter of getting the movie tomorrow!!

Yep. People just attack anything that does not jibe with their own views of the world. I used to fight internet trolls at every turn but I don't bother with them that much anymore. Most forums these days allow you to block posters that are a waste of time and that's just what I do. I'll usually give one response to an attacker, and if they reply with more douchebaggery then they get blocked. Makes life easier on everyone, especially the mods.

+1,000,000. I blame a lot of this on the "film gurus" who instantly defend some artsy, boring crap with their sword in hand. I mean God forbid someone didnt like a movie.

That being said, people need to learn how to crtique films better than they do. At least come up with tangible reasons or substance. Also, dont straight out lie as in claim something about the film that is clearly false - like saying Transformers doesnt have good CG. You can say it has a convoluted plot, you can say its over the top on action, but keep the criticisms accurate.

They were taking drugs, dude. Did't you see the subtext? Taking drugs by the side of a waterfall while your friends fly off to go party without you is deadly!

No offense, but that's exactly the kind of thing I'm talking about. You're calling those films "boring crap" and insisting that they get defended solely because they're "artsy", while those of us who champion those kinds of films clearly don't feel that way. We praise them because we love them. We all have different opinions, and respect needs to go both ways.

This was my favourite movie for 2012 (So far)I saw it 3 times. I thought the concept was so much better that another standard alien sequel. The whole idea that if religion was just something made up by humans where did we really come from. When you look at pictures from hubble you start to realize just how big the universe is and how small we have been thinking .Promtheus is I think the first film to really play in that sandbox.

My job is not to impress you. It's to make stupid jokes to lighten the tension and move on.

Ha! That's probably the main takeaway of the film.

Just kidding, for those who can't tell.
