I was thinking of waiting till Black Friday to get this. But after seeing those gorgeous screenshots from this site's reviews, I will be picking this up tomorrow at Best Buy using their $5 dollar trade in special.

I like those parts as well, but I do prefer the original version. But for Aliens I do prefer the longer extended version. I do remember buying this on LD in 1992.

Wow, so I ordered this from Amazon.com on Saturday, and I had 44 minutes left for release day shipping. I just received my shipping notice from Amazon, and right after that, an alert from UPS with a 10/09/2012 delivery date, and the tracking number doesn't even show up in the UPS system yet.

It seems that, where I live, Amazon and UPS could teach the U.S. Postal Service a thing or two...

I was also thinking about waiting for Black Friday.

But decided to do a "blind buy" tomorrow, based on reviews (the 5 star rating of the picture and audio).
I'll be using the Best Buy DVD trade-in to get $5 off the 3D, 4-disk combo pack.

Can't wait to see this sci-fi flick, for the very first time.

a few weeks ago i placed an order on amazon with release date delivery using amazon prime. I go check my order and all of a sudden it was changed for delivery on friday. i was mad so i called them. He was like oh you chose 2 day shipping which means it wont ship until tomorrow. arent you like supposed to get new releases on release date. is that something they changed?

Yeah i read the review on here and it said there are a lot of unanswered questions,but they're already working on a sequel so thats good news.Great gallery pics you have btw !

Amazon has definitely been "tinkering" with something lately, and it's not good for us I'll tell you that. Not sure exactly what's even going on, but lately they have actually been "holding" some of my orders, and "batching" them up.

Let me give you an example, I had ordered The Indiana Jones boxed set. It showed in stock the whole time, yet my order just wouldn't go into shipping. I sent them an email. They said they "assure me" it will show up in the delivery window on the site. Well, turns out that they waited almost 2 weeks to ship it, AND THEY SHIPPED IT WITH MY MONTHLY AUTOSHIP COFFEE ORDER! These were two totally separate orders.

When I questioned this...they said I should choose quicker shipping if I wanted Indiana Jones sooner. I said, "how about I cancel my 17 orders between now and the end of the year?" So I did. The fact remains that Best Buy and Target have been consistently matching or beating Amazon on my more recent orders in terms of price. Amazon has been slow to price match too, if they do.

And I can get it on release day at Best Buy & Target...whereas now with Amazon I get it Friday or the following Monday. I used to get pre-orders from Amazon on Tuesday/Wednesday of release week...

Just wait until more states start making Amazon collect sales tax (or Amazon open warehouses in more states)...it's gonna get really ugly...

I had something similar happen to me recently with my pre-order of Brave. I've had release-date delivery for at least a month now, I checked my order a few days ago and suddenly my delivery date had changed to Wednesday, 11/14. No explanation. No e-mail. Nothing. I gave them a couple of days to change it back, thinking maybe it was just some sort of glitch, but I decided to just cancel rather than contact CS. I'll just pick it up in-store on release day instead. Really hope this doesn't become a pattern with Amazon.

I hate IMDB reviews.

I like the thrill of not knowing anything about a movie, unless it's a sequel or if a trailer gave too much of the movie, and just letting the movie hit me with what it has.
