Because that is the only way you'd get the upgrade and save voucher deducted from your total. And if you ALL did in fact have a DVD in hand to do the upgrade and save at time of purchase then the employees at your store should have had no issue at all considering it is listed in the circular and such.

But anyway just trying to clarify seeing as I had absolutely no problem whatsoever. It seems possibly and sadly that your locations employees may in fact be out of the loop regarding their current sales and promos. But again some may not have realized they needed to bring a DVD with them to get the voucher lol. I have seen it happen.

Anyway so where do all of you fall on the spectrum with this.
You would think what you are saying would be the case, but unfortunately, many of the Best Buy folks I've encountered in NYC and Northern NJ have the same intelligence level as the folks at the cable company or any mobile phone retailer when you deal with them in person. It never ceases to amaze me how many times you have to wave their own ads or policies under their noses to get them to honor them.

You know it's really easy, you pick and choose before buying, and you go buy it....I'm sorry I'm not trolling, but it really is that easy....if I don't find one in Target with the booklet, I'm going to Best Buy....see how easy that is?

Yeah and that's quite sad and also regarding your experience in NYC / Jersey... I am on Long Island myself and knock wood have a pretty easy transaction each time I go in. Had no problem today with upgrade and save on Prometheus, and more so for E.T. digibook was able to use the upgrade/save and my 3 dollar universal coupon too no hassle. Seems Best Buy just needs to have better managers to train their staff like the location I frequent lol. Sorry you have such poor experiences.

Fyi to anyone in Central NJ, Target in South Brunswick had a few of the 3d exclusives. No good in Edison, South Plainfield, or Milltown.

My Target only had the regular 3D release. No exclusive slipbox. They did have an exclusive with a booklet for the 2D release, but not the 3D one.

My Target had plenty of the exclusives, so I was able to grab it after all!

For anybody who's watching for the first time, I recommend watching The Peter Weyland Files before beginning the movie - they will really enhance the experience (especially the extended Peter Weyland TED Speech, in which Guy Pearce just rocks all kinds of awesomeness ).

Most people arent on bluray.com and know about all this stuff, so they go in and buy the $20 version, not knowing the $24 version has a huge behind the scenes feature. Not cool.
I have to agree, as an average consumer I would assume the 2D has everything the 3D version has except for the 3D disc. This happened for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and Cars 2 as well -- if I didn't hang out here I wouldn't have known they had a bonus blu of extras. If the studios want to do this they just need to advertise it better -- I have to say I like the price point -- I don't have a 3D TV but will pay $5.00 extra for a 3 1/2 hour documentary.

Okay here's the deal for anyone who posted to my initial inquiry regarding the digital copy not redeeming on iTunes. I called up FOX Digital and got the 411. Pretty simple fix even though it is a ridiculous extra step lol.

First of all what you have to do is run the disc when it pops up you click open to view files. Then click the DVDROM folder...from there you then click Media Manager....and in that folder the very last item at the bottom is the Media Manager II application. Launch that and let it load and from there it will prompt you to type in the digital code on the slip you got in the case and once you choose either iTunes or Ultraviolet it will then generate a new code for you lol.

Again like I said and easy fix but odd that you have to use one code just to get another lol ;-P
Thanks. That did the trick. The code on the insert worked just fine for Vudu, but it's definitely odd that a different code has to be generated for iTunes.

I actually enjoyed those viral videos better than the movie. I had a mixed reaction to this film when I saw it in the theatre but think it deserves another chance. I picked up the 3D version today at BB using the U & S coupon. I have yet to see the movie in 3D so I'm pretty excited about that. Maybe it will grow on me like Blade Runner did so many years ago.

Yep exactly. Its not that I have a problem with what they're doing, its that its just not made very clear, thats all. If someone doesnt have a 3DTV, there is a good chance many of them wouldnt know the 3D version has a very long documentary on it that isnt on the normal version, so for only $5 less they are getting screwed out of something they may actually want.

To me $5 is worth it for such a long documentary, and I would think it is for many people, but many will just get the regular version thinking it has the same extras, just without the 3D version.

Watching the Furious Gods doc at the moment. The amount of detail, work, and precision needed to construct these sets is extradionary. And in the time frame that they got it done in is incredible.
