Ugh... I'm kinda pissed right now. I was opening this up and as I was trying to take off the clear sticker they put at the top of all Blu-rays and DVD's, it ripped off the entire Blu-ray logo in the process. What the ****?

Does anyone think I could get a replacement case if I contacted Fox or whoever? I guess I could live with it but it's such a bummer to look at... I would love to get a replacement if possible. Anyone?

So the Target photo book is inside the 2D case and inside the 3D or next to it inside the slipbox?

You talking about the silver logo on the blue plastic case itself? That happens all the time with certain case types. There is no avoiding it. You can buy replacement cases online. Would not be surprised if Fox would give you one, but also might charge for it.

I wish we had more movies like this. It is such an experience of grand scale.

So beautiful, so interesting, I wish we had a 3 hour 20 min extended cut

I'm still trying to get confirmation on the 2D, but the 3D is next to the BD case inside a slipbox (kinda like their Snow White and the Huntsman exlusive).

I picked up the Target Slipbox edition earlier today. They had a lot of copies so if your interested it shouldn't be hard to snatch one within this week. It is really nice if your a collector of movies/blu-rays. I prefer a nice box or blu-ray book over a steelbook anyway. The artbook is packaged alongside the case in the box and is about 32 pages long. I'm guessing it is like a greatest hits of the actual big official artbook. It is still nice and has some really cool concept art. Don't know how the other guy got them to PM at $19.99 for this. Maybe $24.99 if they don't know any better which apparently they don't I guess. Also, the artbook is sized to fit inside the vortex case if you want but then it is kind of loose in the slipbox.

+1 A very good film, even more enjoyable the second time around. It's also a fantastic blu-ray.

Thinking about blind buying. I loved Aliens... didn't care for the rest. How's this movie?

Doubt anyone bought the 2D because of the lack of special features.

Went to Best Buy as soon as it opened this morning and picked up the standard and collector's edition blu-rays (had to have both covers), and I noticed one of the BB employees walking out with a Prometheus t-shirt (with the Engineer from the standard version on the front) in his hand. I asked if they were giving them out, but he said they were for employees only from the vendor. Oh well...sweet looking shirt, though...perhaps it'll pop up on ebay.

UPDATE: Yup:

I got the 2D because it was cheaper and I don't care for special features or 3D.

Going back to this on BD has solidified the enjoyment I felt watching this in theaters, but this time without the negative buzz of the naysayers. This movie is an incredible experience that is probably my favorite cinema offering yet of 2012.

Checking out Furious Gods right now - this is how you do a behind the scenes documentary!

FYI if you are having trouble redeeming the iTunes copy...

Open up the disc, there is a program called Fox Digital Copy. Run that. Put your code in and select iTunes as the format. It will give you a new code to put in to iTunes.
