One thing everyone has to give this film credit for is at least making an effort in a day and age where everything is streamlined and spoonfed. They went for originality (even for a prequel), and made something unique. Whether, or not, it stands the test of time is a question to be answered down the line, but as of today, even those who dislike the film can't deny the writers and Ridley went for it. And at the end of the day, that's what makes true art.

Hello, welcome to the forum. Digital copies are not in HD! They're presented in 480p.

This did look amazing. One of the better blu-rays I've seen in a while. I haven't watched the documentary yet, but I did re-watch the film for a second time after seeing it back in June.

Not sure if it should surprise me, but my opinions haven't really changed at all. I still get annoyed at every decision made by and about the characters, and I still find a lot to love about it (Fassbender's face, the production design, the great score mentioned earlier, the sound design, the awesomeness of the blu-ray quality)... it's really a film where you can find things to like, whatever you find flaws in.

For just additional 5 bucks, u will get a 3D disc and a bonus special features disc, a complete package.

I dont understand why is it so hard to choose. Saves you time and effort to go get the bonus disc from elsewhere and like someone said, u still can sell the 3D disc.

Funny.

Kinda curious for those guys who have bought their 2d bonus disc on ebay for $3-4, why didnt you just pay $5 more and get the full 3d version and then just sell the 3d disc for $10 which is what they seem to go for. I know for some people its just the principle but studios arent going to stop doing this so best to make best of a bad situation.

Still waiting for mine to ship from Amazon then i have to wait 2-3 weeks for it arrive. Poo
This is why I prefer shopping in retail stores.

I decided to blind buy this today, and picked up a 3D copy for 25 bucks. Doesnt get much better than that, and I get to watch it tonight

To all who posted about the Fox Digital Copy code regeneration, thank you. I panicked when it didn't take via iTunes but later noticed the new code using the former application. So many thanks! Can't wait to watch it (again) and the features!

Picked it up, and the first thing I dove into was the deleted scenes. Most of them should have been kept, not just for added story, but for more character stuff, which I felt the theatrical version needed.

[Show spoiler]I think the alternate Holloway scenes fit better than the final cut re-shoot, as it makes his drunkeness a little less out of the blue.

I would demand an extended cut, but....

So we get an extended version of Robin Hood, but it's the film that could have used one, you said no to?

If you saw ther packaging of BD's in Oz you might think twice about buying locally. The ratings logo is huge and ugly and we get very few exclusives. Though have to say we are gettin a steelbook of Prometheus here but beleive its only the 2d verson. But having said that its $$40 Au. So for me im ordering it from Amazon. Have to wait but worth it for the nicer packaging and slip.

I appreciate your thoughts on this. I was underwhelmed to say the least when I saw it in the theatre.

I sometimes feel like I'm in a stanley milgram experiment being told two lines are of the same length when one is in actuality twice as long as the other.

Meaning, I'm now thinking of buying a copy for myself.

There are some plot holes, unnecessarily added fluff and stupid action scenes, but overall I enjoyed the movie in the theater and enjoyed watching it again tonight! This is one of my top films of 2012.

Well, at least that should put an end to people claiming that Fox is cheating them by holding off on an extended cut. It says it right there - they wanted one, but Ridley's standing firm by his final cut.

It's nothing we couldn't deduce already, based on Ridley's past comments - but speculation persisted anyway. Well, it can't get any clearer than this.

Finally back from my trip out of town to pick this and some other stuff up. The Super Target I went to had like 15 of the 3D exclusive set on an end cap.

I have to say, the slip case doesn't quite look as cool as I thought it would. With the foil/shine effect going on, it somehow ends up looking like an overly dark blue/green blob on the front, more or less, with David a tiny, dark, difficult to resolve figure.

They didn't have any of the standard 3D so I couldn't see if the standard slipcover looked the same way...would anybody describe it similarly?

I personally would describe it exactly the same, the one I got was from Amazon.

I like any pictures of the cover more than the shiny slipcover itself as it seemed to lose a bit of its edge. Definitely a bit blobby.

Maybe it's just me though!
