Great movie and the visuals are stunning. So far I've only checked out the 2D three times, waiting for a day to do 3D with some buddies. The only problem I had was BB decided to put a ultra residue sticker on my slip cover!!! They usually peel off no problem but this one was impossible so I just gave up. And charlize should have been the lead but she was committed to other films already would have made it that much better!

Not really. Hes too scared to mention it I guess. Or he thinks hes imagining it. My guess is the former.

You'd think the regeneration of the "goo" in the body would multiply very rapidly and decompose Dr. Holloway, maybe not as fast, but certainly decompose him....I dunno....during sex? Just an observation, not being jaded or anything....

I felt as if Holloway went from Arrogant to Humbled after he saw something moving in his eye. David made a comment towards him when they were boarding the APV (can't recall if he said that he hoped he will feel better or something similar to that) but Holloway looked at him with a blank stare. Then of course it went from bad to worse as time progressed.

The goo in this case was not decomposing him, same with Fifield and the small worms roaming around in the room. The goo in this case was meant to transform a lifeform. This is where the Hammerpedes, an infected Holloway, and an infected Fifield came about. Fifield got it on his helmet, became disoriented and then fell into a pool of goo. His transformation was much more intense, like drinking an entire bottle of whiskey with one gulp. Holloway's transformation was more gradual, but enough to the point that his DNA turned him into a sort of "Face Hugger", thus the result of Shaw's offspring.

"It was discussed quite a bit, the idea of an extended cut," de Lauzirika said. "But the theatrical cut is Ridley's director's cut."

"Fox very kindly offered him the opportunity to create a new cut of the film, and he said 'No, this is my cut, and I'll give you thirty-something minutes of deleted scenes on the side'.

"It was that simple, there was really no debate and no argument."
I'm sure Ridley originally said the same thing about Blade Runner, Alien, Gladiator, Robin Hood ........

Watched the 3D version last night on my LG passive 3D rig. It looked amazing. I saw no ghosting or crosstalk except on Weyland's white head at one point. I was even sitting 5 feet from the screen lol

I also watched the deleted scenes. I'm ok with most of them being removed. Though the Vickers & Yanek conversation in her quarters could be put back in IMO.

Additionally I cannot believe they did not use WETAs Fairfield attack. It looks 1000x better. That's the only scene that I really am bummed they changed. I prefer the CGI version a million times more than what they ended up going with. There's just enough traces of the alien in him... The face & elongated limbs... So cool.

Huh? Alien and Gladiator's longer cuts are not his preferred versions.

Robin Hood received a director's cut immediately upon release on home video.

As for Blade Runner, I can't attest to that either way since I wasn't even around when the film first came out. But it's not like Director's Cuts were even common place back then.

Redeeming the digital copy for this was different than all the others I've redeemed. Warning to those who haven't done so, follow the directions specifically because you can't just enter the code in iTunes.

Just because they're not his preferred versions doesn't mean we won't eventually get an extended cut somewhere down the line.

If I want more scenes, I'll just go to the deleted scenes...if an Extended Version comes out, I'm sure I'll be double-dipping!

Well after watching "Dangerous Days", the making-of of Blade Runner, Ridley says that the Final Cut is the way he wanted the movie to be back in the day, but the producers wanted it to be something else entirely and meddled too much in the process and dumbed it down, a lot... Now I'm not saying the Final Cut is superior to the 4 other cuts, it's just Ridley's original vision and his "Director's Cut".

Well, to each their own. But I never watch the alternate cuts of Alien or Gladiator. They're nice as a curiosity, and not much more imo.

There was a time, when Director's Cuts were few and far between and were created when the studio had tampered with, or influenced to detrimental effect, the final product.

In my opinion, the only two Ridley Scott films that ever matched this criteria were Blade Runner and Kingdom of Heaven.

Just FYI if you don't have a DVD to trade in at best buy, they're running a promo where you have their mobile reps check if you're up for a phone upgrade and you get 5 bucks off any blu-ray.

I just did it and it took about 5 minutes, you don't have to buy a phone or anything.
