I'll ignore Promie the same way I ignore Spider-Man 3.

And AVP: Requiem.

And Godfather 3.

And those damned Crystal Skulls, too.

It would be nice if the Cinemark at Arundle Mills would have IMAX. I live 10min from there. Before Muvico sold it to Cinemark, it was the most profitable theatre in North America. Not sure if it still is. The parking gets worse and worse. Hundreds of parking spaces are designated for valet parking and the majority are almost always empty. Now with that casino located right there,.. the parking and traffic are horrible.

I saw this last weekend and it might be something I need to watch again to appreciate the overall vision/story. I may pick this up at the right price.

Cheers!

Saw it yesterday for the second time, in IMAX 3D (2k though...).
I know the movie has flaws, flaws that usually annoy me...
But I don't know why, I'm very lenient with this one.
Maybe it is the fact that the SF flavor is looking very good or that the overall mood talks to me...
It could have been a much better movie, with a better use of characters and more consistency is their behaviours, but it still works for me.
And it's the first time I see a real interrest in 3D ! The shot with the prometheus approaching LV223, the storm, the drone scanning the zone, the derelict cockpit AR space map, etc.
I'm very impatient to see the extended cut and the sequels...

That doesn't mean it isn't a prequel. That's just arguing semantics. What Ridley means is that it's not directly going to relate to Alien. It's very obviously in the same "universe" and takes place prior to the events of Alien. To me that's says "prequel." though "spinoff story" or whatever you'd want to call it would also apply.

I have to agree that this seemed more like a prequel. Don't get me wrong, its a completely stand-alone film and doesn't really take that much from the first 'Alien,' but I mean comeon with that ending right before the credits
[Show spoiler]when the alien from the first film is born; they might as well put a scene after the credit of Ripley getting onboard the spaceship

I think he means that it is not a direct prequel to Alien. Prometheus would have to cover more ground to get where Alien begins.

The ALIEN in Prometheus is an early version or in it's early stages of evolution..
Mr.Cuddles= early proto facehugger
The Deacon= early proto xeno..
Quite different than what we know the ALIEN looks like when Ripley encounters it..
Now in the sequel (and yes there will be one) we may see what leads up to the first ALIEN and how the ship with the eggs becomes stranded on LV-426...
