i wonder why the xeno's in Aliens were smaller (more animal like) than the one in Alien

The xeno's are all kinda different in the 4 movies.

Visually, way more impressive than Avatar.
I second this. I've seen it now in 2-D and 3-D. Yes the 3-D is excellent but like always, I prefer the 2-D. I can't understand WHY CHOOSE 3D WHEN IT'S NOTICEABLY DARKER AND HARDER ON YOUR EYES!

Because its not?

Go to a theater that isn't a POS and the brightness will be the way its supposed to

The dimness has been acknowledged by filmmakers who use 3D. It doesn't have much to do with theatre quality. The tinted glasses being an obvious contributer.

IMAX 3D definitely didn't have this problem. It was by far the best 3D film I've ever seen and that includes Avatar.

Of course it does, different theaters project different amounts of light on different-sized screens. Some theaters are too dim to begin with, and 3D looks horrible. Some are sufficiently bright, and the light loss due to the polarizers doesn't ruin the image.

I viewed it in Imax as well and the dimness did not bother me much if at all. My guess is that because the film had a darker color scheme Scott had the good sense to brighten the film to counteract the inherent 3D dimness.

If by theaters, you mean projectors, then yes that is correct. Your statement was misleading when you said "theatre quality" when you should have said projector quality. However projector model is only 1 factor in determining dimness. Lately studios have been pretty good at manually brightening prints before they send them to theatre chains, and that does a great deal to brighten the image. At the end of the day though, you are wearing tinted glasses and that will cause dimness.

Not sure if this has been posted yet but there are some details surfacing about the French Blu-ray release:

http://www.prometheusforum.net/discussion/2614

I'm posting this because this is what really interests me:

Disc 1 (Prometheus 2D) (150 'bonus):
Cut scenes or alternative (15 ')
Audio commentary by director (120 ')

150 minutes? Does that confirm there will be an extended cut released? Although, the audio commentary states 120... which is basically how long the theatrical cut was... I guess we just have to wait and see.

Mighty intriguing.

Could be. If you go to the link though, it lists all the special features on that disc and maybe I'm just bad at math, but the numbers don't seem to add up to 150. Maybe I'm just hopeful for a longer cut of the film though.

And yes, it looks like they're getting an extra disc.

Amazon.fr does seem to be counting the 150 minutes as bonus material. (My French isn't perfect, but i would presume 150' de bonus implies such a thing)

Though would the alternative/deleted scenes listed as bonus material be separate from a supposed extended cut? Or possibly just the leftovers?

This is kind of funny, because I've read somewhere that Scott mentioned that there are 30 minutes that were cut off.. The movie we saw was 120 minutes.. Adding them up is 150.. Curiouser and Curiouser

A listing error is a possibility.

After reading all the special features on Prometheus blu ray french release,I pre ordered it and can't wait for october 3rd.

Actually, there's much more bonus features than I expected because 150mn is on the 1st blu ray 2d version(commentary 120 mn+deleted scenes 15mn+4 extra scenes 18mn).Also there's an extra 1 hour of bonus features available through ipad.

-2nd disc is the 3d version of the movie with no special features

-3rd disc: 120mn of making of divided in 9 sections+30mn of mini featurettes+1 hour of Peter weyland archive(the same one from disc one available through Ipad but this time,it's on disc).

-4th disc:dvd version+15mn of deleted scenes

All this in a steelbook.total for the bonus features is 120mn for the commentary+245mn of bonus features+many picturres gallery+screenplay+.....

Dang it, now i have to decide wether I should get it from France or US. Please let the US have the same exact features.

wow if they count the audio commentary of 120 min and deleted scenes 15 min then there will only be 15 min of real bonus material on. Talk about a BIG let down

Last I read the blu-ray disc would have extra scenes added. Whether that was in the form of an "extended cut" or "deleted scenes" was yet to be determined.

Scott said in an interview that there will be 20 or so minutes put back into the movie...

I can't wait for this release; I saw it twice in IMAX and it was great fun.
