No you're right. The first release of the film came out on October 11th, 2005, the DC followed on May 23rd, 2006. So a double dip wouldn't be completely impossible. Robin Hood came out with the DC in its first release, but it was a Universal release. I could see Fox pulling an Avatar or Kingdom of Heaven-styled double dip. Though it's basically flipping a coin. I'm personally betting on the DC being the initial release.

I have noticed that with a lot of Ridley Scott's releases, the Deleted/Extended Scenes appear when you click to view the Theatrical Presentations, but they are included in an extended version as well. Hopefully, that trend (Alien, Blade Runner, Gladiator, American Gangster, Robin Hood) continues!

He's changed his stance on an extended cut back and forth in almost every post-release Prometheus interview I've watched.
It's looking like he decided against it, but I'm still holding out hope until the official US specs are announced. |

I'll be somewhat disappointed if there isn't an extended version that's longer than 10 or 15 minutes, much of which will probably just be exposition and dialogue. There's GOT to be a bunch of footage that didn't make the final cut. Even if the theatrical cut is Scott's preferred version, he should still assemble a version containing as much cut footage as possible if only to give fans an alternate take on the film. Let us decide which version we prefer. I can't say I was thrilled with the final product so if there's a substantially longer version chances are I'm going to prefer it over the theatrical.

I still have hope for the possible director's cut. Some blind optimism won't hurt....For a while.
