And they were given a long run. A thousand years before their disintegration actually started to happen. And you can say, 'Let's send down one more of our emissaries to see if he can stop it.' Guess what? They crucified him."

So in essence, the ship in Prometheus was to be the second coming of Jesus.
I think that concept is so intriguing, seriously....religion can be blasphemous in any regard....

So Jesus was actually a xenomorph, and not an engineer? This movie is awesome.

Thank you. One person confirmed that it's NOT an Alien.

Epic win.

Honestly, I don't think they had any intention of really working with Giger on this. Based on his experience with Alien, Ridley Scott knew how hands-on Giger is with his art, so I think their talks weren't much more than Ridley Scott asking for Giger's blessing.

Man, the split between the frame and black bars at the top and bottom of the print on "Prometheus" are annoying. There is a white line that is very visible to the eyes. Most films on Blu-ray don't have that visible line split, usually it's seamless.

I attached some pictures of it. I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned before.

Yeah zoom in, and cut off half the picture.

I haven't read the rest of the argument; are you thinking that I'm implying that the above photo is not of a form of xenomorph? It's one of the many outcomes of their biological agent (black ooze). We're dealing with a creature that can recombine, manipulate DNA and in essence, create life on a whim. In doing so, one would have to assume that they also have some "fun" ways of disposing of it as well. Ridley is quoted as saying that the ship that landed on LV-426 was overtaken upon landing by "its cargo."

Jesus wasn't a xeno, he was an ammbasitor from the Engineers sent to say "Chill and be groovy." We killed him, the Juggernaut was loaded and to be dispatched.

Sounds like he was saying it IS or WAS an alien. But to say that mural in no way resembles the xenomorph or the creature that burst out of the engineer at the end is a bit silly. It may not be the EXACT same creature we are used to but a version of it?....absolutely.

I think it was a similar creature but the first, true origin of xenomorph ALIEN is a result of Elizabeth's baby and the engineer.

EDIT: Did Scott confirmed this in his audio commentary or documentary or did he deny it?

The Geiger Altar may have been nothing more than an homage to Geiger.

http://alienseries.blogspot.com/2012...ger-altar.html

Regarding the Deacon being a Queen xenomorph. It is a Deacon not a Deaconess. It was described as the size of a six year old boy (not a girl) by the effects people that created it. ( from the Art of Prometheus book)

In both cases, it will be up to the director and writers of Prometheus 2 (Paradise) what they do with these concepts. Too early to tell.

In addition, the term 'Deacon' was coined by Ridley based on the shape of the Deacon's head at birth. The head is used like an egg tooth to egress an egg when an egg hatches. There is speculation that as the Deacon matures, its shape may change.

Great? No.

If anything, the discussion and speculation shows what a confusing mess Prometheus is, even after it is explained away by its creators.

Is the film "great"? Maybe not...but it is certainly interesting that while people are very split about the film they sure as hell can't quit talking about it. Even the people bombing on it keep coming back for more lol

There IS something great about that. Better to have a movie people talk about, good or bad, than have a completely forgettable film that even the people that enjoy it don't talk about.

Most of what's being discussed is not due to confusion, but the between the lines parts that have more than one interpretation.

Not necessarily, as Ridley is quoted as saying that the the ship on LV-426 was was a brother to the one on LV-223, which we can guess was either loaded with the black ooze or possibly the eggs. Kind of a "which came first, chicken or the egg" conundrum. Either way, when combined with Humans, the xenomorph we all grew up scared of comes into picture.

Remember, this is simple genetics at play. The xenomorph creature takes on the characteristics of it's host by way of DNA manipulation/splicing. As pointed out in the film, our DNA is identical to that of the engineer. That said, the "junk genes" contained there within, can be massively different. I'm pretty sure the Engineers have seen the creature at the end of the film before. Again, it is their biological weapon after all.

Another option is to view Elizabeth's baby much like Ripley's in Alien Resurrection, inbred.

EDIT: Forgot the Ridley quote:

[Show spoiler]Ridley Scott: "For all intents and purposes this is very loosely a prequel, very, and then you say 'But how did that ship evolve in the first Alien?' Then I would say 'Actually he's one of the group that had gone off and his cargo had gotten out of control,' because he was heading somewhere else and it got out of control and actually he had died in the process and that would be the story there. That ship happened to be a brother to the ship that you see that comes out of the ground at the end. They are roughly of the same period give or take a couple hundred years, right? Other than that, there's no real link except it explains, I think, who may have had these capabilities, which are dreadful weapons way beyond anything we could possibly conceive, bacteriological drums of shit that you can drop on a planet..."

Precisely, that would be what I'd want if I directed or wrote a film. I'd like the accolades, but the after-movie discussions are even better.
