from the Digital Bits dated July 6

Quote:
In news today, we've heard from our industry sources that yesterday's list of features from Fox's Prometheus Blu-ray (street date TBA) is only partially accurate. The list came from unofficial/early marketing materials seen by Amazon's French online store, and of course was loosely translated into English. So while the general parameters are probably loosely accurate, it's by no means final or official. We're still waiting to see if Fox is going to be ready to officially announce the title's features and street date for next week's Comic-Con, but in any case we would expect more official and accurate details soon. So just consider the list for what it is and salt accordingly.

Alien purists go on and on about mystique. Mystique this and mystique that, but there were really only 2 ways to explain the Space Jockeys and that was either:

[Show spoiler]A.) They were just another race that were invaded by the Xenomophs.

or

B.) They created the Xenomorphs which turned on them

I'm glad Scott went with the latter.

Default 10-11-12

anxiously awaiting a confirmation that the US version indeed contains all the deleted footage already announced for the UK version! Though I cannot even fathom Fox giving the UK release an advantage that would short side sales here. Oddly, even directors like Quentin Tarantino shoot studios in the foot making wild promises even before the movie is out of the theater (as was with "Kill Bill")! Scott himself already said a standard version of his film would release first, because the market bears it. US release on 10-9, what happens on 10-11-12? Hmmmmm...

It's a FOX release, it'll most certainly have DTS HD-MA, which is for the better. I'll be picking this up day one, unless it turns out it's the theatrical cut and I know for a fact there's an extended cut around the corner. Absolutely loved this in the theater. Hoping for a stateside exclusive somewhere.

Default Charles de Lauzirika talks about Prometheus Blu Ray..

@ the SDCC Blu Ray Panel Charles de Lauzirika commented on why there was no showing or mention of the Blu Ray version of Prometheus:

From Digitalbits.com:
Quote:
Charles de Lauzirika was unable to show footage of his BD work on Prometheus..But he promised that the Prometheus Blu Ray will be among the most comprehensive special editions he's ever created for a single film and it will definitely "Enhance your appreciation of the story"
..

To me that sounds like scenes will be reinserted back into the movie..

Charles de Lauzirika, the guy who put together the Blade Runner Blu-ray and Alien Anthology . Hopefully he succeeds in giving us that quality with Prometheus.

October 9 can't come soon enough! Best movie of 2012 that I've seen so far. The PQ and AQ will undoubtedly be amazing on this one.

Two of the best Blus ever released. I have no doubt in the quality of Prometheus on Blu-ray.

He must be Ridley Scott and Fox approved... I'm happy to see this!

vveksuvarna (from your post on page 1), and everyone else, "Prometheus", even in 3D, was 2:35:1. I know this for a fact. I saw it in IMAX 3D at a real IMAX theater. Not in a chain theater, it was a 70 mm, with 7 story screen out at the state zoo. The image was 2:35:1 throughout, even with 3D. There was lots of space on top and bottom that looked liked letterboxing but since the screen was so huge, the image was 3 stories tall still.

Some of the best 3D I've seen. I can't wait to watch this one at home. Even in all the dark scenes you could pick out the depth.
