anxiously awaiting a confirmation that the US version indeed contains all the deleted footage already announced for the UK version! Though I cannot even fathom Fox giving the UK release an advantage that would short side sales here. Oddly, even directors like Quentin Tarantino shoot studios in the foot making wild promises even before the movie is out of the theater (as was with "Kill Bill")! Scott himself already said a standard version of his film would release first, because the market bears it. US release on 10-9, what happens on 10-11-12?

It's a FOX release, it'll most certainly have DTS HD-MA, which is for the better. I'll be picking this up day one, unless it turns out it's the theatrical cut and I know for a fact there's an extended cut around the corner. Absolutely loved this in the theater. Hoping for a stateside exclusive somewhere.

@ the SDCC Blu Ray Panel Charles de Lauzirika commented on why there was no showing or mention of the Blu Ray version of Prometheus:

To me that sounds like scenes will be reinserted back into the movie.. |

vveksuvarna (from your post on page 1), and everyone else, "Prometheus", even in 3D, was 2:35:1. I know this for a fact. I saw it in IMAX 3D at a real IMAX theater. Not in a chain theater, it was a 70 mm, with 7 story screen out at the state zoo. The image was 2:35:1 throughout, even with 3D. There was lots of space on top and bottom that looked liked letterboxing but since the screen was so huge, the image was 3 stories tall still.
Some of the best 3D I've seen. I can't wait to watch this one at home. Even in all the dark scenes you could pick out the depth. |
