If you would like to read about the discussions of the edit I am talking about, you can visit Weyland Investor's Cut Discussion. Keep in mind though that any talk of illegal file sharing will get you banned and rightfully so.
It is a fan cut and not official by any means, which makes me want to see what Ridley Scott would personally have done with an extended cut all the more. Like I said previously, I have nothing against the theatrical cut, I am a huge fan of the film having seen it three times in the theater, but the vast majority who have seen the version with the deleted and alternate scenes added back in PREFER that version. I agree with them. |

I've received my copy. Residing in Malaysia, and they seem to sell the 3 Disc Edition along with a piece of lenticular art on it.
I've unboxed it, and weird thing is, its not even a slip case. Its basically one piece of lenticular paper card, bundled together in the packaging. ![]() What a shame indeed. If only it was a slip case. It is as if they've designed the lenticular art card just for people to dispose it once they've unbox the Blu-Ray, and there's no "option" for people to attach the art piece. Who ever who have come up with this idea should get his/her ass fired. What an absolute load of horseshit. Ridiculous. ![]() Forgive me for my rant guys, I'm just disappointed. The lenticular art of David in the Orrery Room interacting with the holograms is so beautiful and its the best lenticular art I've ever seen. Looks like I might have to glue that shit. Damn. It will ruin the case for sure ![]() I've posted 4 pictures. Please have a look and look closely at the side shots and you guys can see the lenticular art piece just placed onto the main front casing. *Sorry for the quality of the images. I'm using Blackberry 9780 and its just 5MPs.* LOL ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by PointManification; 10-13-2012 at 07:16 PM. |

Well, a suit it may be, but this particular shot got me intrigued. Look at the back of his neck. Notice the crevice? Its like its embedded with him. Oh man. At times, it looks like its a damn suit, at times, I think its not. Confused.

You know what I really got to thinking about just now is that I think most peoples complaints are ultimately based on the fact that it is Alien related in someway. I started to defend a lot of peoples arguments about there being no answers in a discussion with my friend but then what I realized was that if you completely eliminate the Alien aspect of it, people would have less complaints and would not write it off as atrocious or anything else we have heard.
Follow my logic. Lets just say that we remove all of the elements that have to do with Alien and completely strip it down to this: A film about a group of scientists who find an invitation to a moon that is thousands of years old. There they discover their makers, but also discover that they are all dead and that they were on their way to wiping out Earth. If we look at it as just this then there is 3 main questions I see: what killed the engineers/what were they running from, why did they invite us, why did they want to kill us? I originally started my argument with my friend by saying "yes other movies have left us with questions but we still had a full movie regardless". I referred to films like Sucker Punch, Shutter Island, Inception, and even again Pulp Fiction, sure we would understand the movie more if we knew what was in the briefcase but we still had a full movie from start to finish. Then I corrected myself and realized WITHOUT trying to connect it to Alien, we have the same from Prometheus. We have a movie that is about going to moon to discover something. Discovering it and then something terrifying attacking us. Its funny that people are so mad at this film for not tying it into Alien but they fail to mention that Alien DID THE EXACT SAME THING. The movie was literally about going to another moon (admittedly for a different reason), investigating a ship, being attacked by its occupants while investigating. Did people leave the Alien movie and say "this sucks, it doesnt make sense, where did the eggs come from?, what is the alien? who made it?" If anything I would have been more pissed about Alien once Aliens came out because we know that a queen is responsible for laying the eggs which create facehuggers which use humans as host and create xenomorphs. But what created the queen? was there humans on the ship before the original crew in Alien? I think this is where Prometheus shines in its "connection" to Alien because it gives us something that has the same DNA that would arguably produce the same results but pre-dates us by an unknown number of years. Do I think there is a lot of stuff that could or should have been answered? Absolutely, but I do not think that it makes it an incomplete movie at all or horrible. |

I dont know if you were asking me but it doesnt at all. I love this movie. I preferably hope its not all a suit and hope that it is some form of evolution or mutation of the Engineer because I would like that to tie into the whole "perfect organism" statement about the xenomorph in Alien. I mean face it, humans over time have poisoned themselves with unhealthy habits and I'd like to think a "perfect organism" came from something superior to us.

Bought this the other day, watched it again, and I have to say, I absolutely loved it the second viewing. All in all, it's not a hard film to grasp. What's there is there, and a lot of that I'm sure will be answered in a sequel. I thought a lot of the information was already given to us, we just had to listen and watch closely.

So it is a biomechanical device that becomes one with the Engineer's body. Who's to say that over thousands or perhaps million of years of Engineer evolution the suit hasn't actually merged permanently with the Engineer race? |

Nothing against Lindelof but his "fanboy'ism" reminded me of what the Strauss Brothers did for AVP Requiem, and IMO, that's a no no!!! |
